Welcome to Casa Passiflora, a brand new studio apartment nestled in the foothills of Santa Barbara! Fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, luxurious shower, queen bed, and open-plan living room. High, vaulted ceilings flooded with natural light. Direct access to your own outdoor space for dining and relaxing. Located on a quiet cul-de-sac, the space is just a short trip from downtown, the beach, the mountains (Los Padres national forest), the local airport, and UCSB. Easy parking.

The space

This newly built studio apartment is flooded with natural light from three windowed walls equipped with up down shades and three top picture windows.
The skylight could be opened and shaded as well.

The unit is adjacent to the main house but the shared wall has been doubled and fitted with soundproof paneling.

The kitchen is brand new, outfitted with state-of-the-art appliances and new cookware. Enjoy the cappuccino machine or use the cordless electric kettle for making tea. There is a special tap for filleted drinking water, and ready to use ice in the freezer.

The main wall faces north, so the space stays cool; a nice breeze enters through its windows when open. There is also a ceiling fan. The door opens into a courtyard with a seating area under our fruitful clementine tree. Pick as many as you’d like when they’re in season!

The custom tiles in the landing and bathroom depict the passion flower (Passiflora), one of our favorite flowers, which blooms on vines along our fence! And the pelican-themed kitchen backsplash is an homage to the gregarious flocks you’ll find at the nearby beaches.

Guest access

The whole apartment is dedicated for guest use, and the adjacent patio as well. There is a private entrance so you won’t necessarily meet with us.
The laundry room is shared with the family house, and is going to be available for guests who stay over a week on Mondays and Thursdays.
If you come for few nights only and still need to use the W/D, please ask us and we’ll accommodate you with a 24 hours window access to the laundry room.

Other things to note

Ample street parking is available.
The space is ideal for a single or couple although in rare situations we could include one or two more guests.
We have a sofa bed that could open to a comfortable queen bed. Extra beddings, pillows, blankets etc are in drawers under the main bed.
There is a fee for extra guests : this is an exception; we could accommodate depending on the case and it is not guaranteed.
There isn’t any convenient public transportation, but Uber and Lyft are available in the area.
There is a ceiling fan, no a/c. The studio is facing north east and keeps cool, plus there are many windows for cross breeze.
The studio is located on the ground floor, and provides indoor/outdoor nature experience. You’ll enjoy the butterflies, birds and hummingbirds.
All window have screens, but occasionally, in the height of the summer, some ants could make their way in. In which case, we take care of it.
Regretfully we cannot host animals.
In regard to service animals: we are aware of the value of service animals as well as the Airbnb service animal policy. However, this property is also our family's primary residence, and members of the family suffer from pet allergies. Because of this, we kindly request all guests to do not bring any service animals who shed to guarantee the family's health.
We cannot accept letters or packages for guests, so if you must get something by mail please use a direct delivery service or a collection box at one of the nearby branches.
