The most uniquely named neighbourhood in London, Elephant and Castle derives its title from a pub / coaching house from the 1760s which is now sadly demolished but another iconic Elephant and Castle pub with cozy Brit charms has since popped up in the area.
From Elephant Park’s and Sayer Street’s new bars and restaurants to a multitude of remarkable museums and markets, there are a great number of things to do in Elephant and Castle, Central South London. Visit Mercato Metropolitano, one of the biggest street food spots in London and is one of the best things to do in Elephant and Castle. Housed in an abandoned paper factory, Mercato Metropolitano in Elephant and Castle is the original of the Mercato chain of food halls. There is another Mercato located in Mayfair, plus a smaller version in nearby Elephant Park.

The apartment is a short 3 minute walk to the Elephant and Castle underground station and there are also local buses close by. Major attractions including the London Eye, Big Ben, London Bridge and Borough Market are within walking distance.
