However, the rare costal dunes in between are a protected wildlife area, so you cannot walk through. You have to go around. You can bike in about 3-5 minutes OR drive in about 2 minutes OR during the peak vacation season. Gulf Lakes Beach Access: The Gulf Lakes is the closest beach access point. It is a Walton County beach access located about 1 mile to the East of Prominence. This is a small access and can be easily missed. We suggest using maps to locate this beach access point. Note: No public restrooms at this access point. Deer Lake State Park: Deer Lake is located 0.5 miles West of Prominence. While it is popular, there are a few things to keep in mind: There is a small parking area at the access (aprox. $3 for parking) Get there early, as there is limited parking, and they will close the entrance once full. The boardwalk from the parking area to the beach is a bit longer than most area accesses because you are crossing through the state park and over the costal dunes. A bathroom is available. IMPORTANT - Because this is a state park, and not a Walton County beach access, alcohol is not allowed. Beach chair service is not available at this location. Santa Clara: This public beach access is a Walton County, ADA approved, beach access located near Bramble Grove Road, about 3.5 miles to the west of Prominence. This access point gives our clients easy entrance to a beautiful beach with restrooms. There is also a lifeguard on duty as well as a wheelchair ramp for added safety. Parking is available if you chose to drive. NOTE: Public beach parking fills up quickly in peak season. 30A is a scenic stretch of highway down Florida's beautiful Gulf Coast connecting the coastal villages of South Walton through the undisturbed beauty of rare dune lakes, sugar white sand, and emerald blue waters indigenous to the area. Should you require stable internet service for work or pleasure; please bring an ethernet cord to plug into the router or bring access to a hot spot with you. Enabling WiFi calling on your cellphone may help. Service is BEST at entrance of the community, on 30A & at the beach! Limited tech support. No refunds for any interruption in Wi-Fi service during your stay, NO exceptions. *WEATHER / COVID Please check Walton/Okaloosa County local news outlets for up-to-date closures that may affect your vacation. *PARKING Only park on the driveway of the unit/property you rent. Guest’s risk being towed if not on their assigned drive. Parking is available around grassy area at The Hub. Street parking is not allowed in the triplex side. Parking is Free of Charge. You will have 2 Driveway Spaces & Inside the Garage. Overflow parking is available in Prominence South in the gravel parking spots on Pleasant and Clipper streets. No overnight parking at the pool. No Available RV or Trailer Parking.
