Covid-19 procedures and policy at The Coach House Brecon

We have reassessed every aspect of our business to be able to offer our well known Coach House hospitality in a safe environment so that all our guests can relax and enjoy their stay and this stunning area.

We receive updates and guidance from many resources such as Visit Wales, Visit Britain, World Health Organisation, UK Government, Health and Safety Executive, Public Health Wales, World Health Organisation, UK Hospitality and the B&B Association.

We have 6 rooms but will not be using all rooms at any one time. To enable us time to complete the extensive cleaning procedures that we have implemented we will not be booking rooms ‘back to back’ but leaving a minimum of 30 hours (but average 53 hours) with the rooms vacant before each booking.

Pre arrival

We will be emailing you a registration form to fill in prior to your arrival so that you will not need to do that when you arrive.

We are creating our guide/welcome book online. This will have all the information that used to be in the room book and our activities/sightseeing leaflets. I will send you this link before you arrive.

To keep you, all our other guests and ourselves safe we politely request that if you are displaying any symptoms of Covid-19 that you call us to postpone your stay. These include; A high temperature, a new and persistent cough and changes in your ability to taste and smell.

If you have been in close contact with anyone who has tested positive for Covid-19 in the 14 days before your stay or been contacted by a track and trace agent and asked to self isolate please call us to postpone your stay.

Arrival and check in

Check in is between 4pm - 8pm. We will ask if you could estimate your arrival time for us.

When entering the property please allow us time to step back when the door/gate is opened for you. If you require help with your luggage please let us know in advance so I can be prepared.

On arrival I will show you the dedicated guest corridor and fob system for re-entering the property and take you to your room. You can come and go as you please once checked in.

Our check-in process has been streamlined to allow for a reduced-contact experience. Sigh…I will miss chatting but it is for the best until we are through this.

Hand sanitiser is available at the front and rear entrances to the property and a screen shield installed at the reception area.

All keys and fobs are sterilised in between bookings.

Unfortunately I won’t be able to offer you drinks and cake on arrival as we usually would.

During your stay

At the moment we have decided to remove all decorative cushions from the rooms also pens and notepads.

To avoid cross contamination rooms will not be cleaned during your stay.

Towels replaced on request. Safe procedure for this is detailed in each room.

For the rooms that have robes (our superior king rooms and the mini suite) these will be laundered after each stay even if they appear not to have been used.

In room consumables

All consumable items supplied in your room are new for each guest’s stay. So to limit waste we will ask you before you arrive to let us know the items you would like from a list that we will send to you.

We will not be providing guest masks so please bring these with you if you choose.

Cleaning

As everyone who has stayed with us or seen our reviews will know cleanliness is paramount at The Coach house.

Every guest bedroom and en-suite will be fully cleaned and sanitised before each stay.

All bed linens are laundered at high temperatures after each stay

Mattress protectors, duvet protectors and pillow protectors are all removed and laundered between stays.

Fabric items such as mattresses, pillows, cushions, carpet, chairs and other furniture is sprayed with an approved sanitising solution, which is effective in killing Covid-19 but otherwise harmless to you and us.

Linens, towels and robes are laundered on a high heat. Slippers (superior king rooms and mini suite) and all consumables are replaced before each stay.

Surfaces throughout the guest areas of the property are are thoroughly sanitised and cleaned continuously throughout each day.

We implemented a ‘new normal’ cleaning/sanitising regime back before lockdown and are very familiar with the very extensive nature of the process and are constantly checking on updated guidelines.

We have Internal regulations that require everyone working in the property to wear the appropriate PPE and to wash their hands frequently.

Breakfast

About dining at the Coach House…

We can seat 3 couples socially distanced at more than 2 metres in our large dining room.

When dining in the dining room you do NOT need to pre order your breakfast but you will need to choose a time.

Please let me know if you have specific dietary requirements.

We also offer breakfast delivered to your room - If you would like this option I will send you a checklist menu for you to pre order your breakfast.

We will deliver your breakfast to your room at the agreed time, knock on the door and leave the breakfast trays by your door and step away. All breakfast items ordered are delivered at the same time.

Breakfast times need to be requested before 6pm the evening before.

If your chosen breakfast time is already taken we will get back to you with other available options.

There are many restaurants offering takeaway and delivery meals in the local area so if you decide you would prefer that option rather than dining out just let us know and we can assign a dining table and time in our dining room for you.

We are currently not able to offer late check out’s as we have a minimum number of hours in-between bookings to adhere to.

If you would prefer me to take payment without you using the card terminal I can take payment on your arrival day morning.
