Shired Island Trail Beach is 31 miles from the Treehouse Cabin Retreat

This little known and remote beach is adjacent to the Lower Suwannee River Wildlife Refuge. There are no services in the area, so bring water and provisions. There is a bathroom but no sink to wash hands. It's a short walk from the parking area to the beach. At the parking area there is a boat ramp and dock. There were several people fishing there but no one else on the beach when we went late afternoon. We really enjoyed the serenity, the shade from the trees, and the warm shallow water when we went in June. At low tide there were thousands of crabs!
