Directions
The cabin is in a remote location, but the roads are well-maintained and can be accessed year-round! We do recommend that you plan to get to the cabin before dark.
Things to Bring
Toiletries, medications, and groceries! The nearest grocery store is about half an hour drive from Leatherwood. Make sure you bring at least what you will need for your first evening at the cabin.
Swimsuits, if you plan to use the hot tub or the pool. Note that the community pool is not open year-round.
Fishing poles, if you would like to go fishing. No fishing license required to fish from Leatherwood’s two stocked catch and release ponds. If you would like to fish from the river (a one-mile section of NC Hatchery-supported trout water), you will need an NC fishing license with trout stamp.
