There are so many places and things to see and do when on vacation in Myrtle Beach. Here we made a Top 10 List of our favorite things to see and do for both adults and children, while enjoying your vacation.

The list is in no particular order.


1. The Beach


The beach is less than two minutes from our house, and is 60 miles long. Spend the day walking along beautiful sandy shores, or pop out and have your lunch right on your doorstep. The water is warm and inviting. The climate is ideal for sun bathing, swimming, water sports and any number of daytime activities.

In the center of the city the beach can be quite packed, but if you decide to walk further out either side the beach becomes a lot less busy and more peaceful.
The Grand Strand is the best stretch of beach on the East coast and whilst you are here, waking up early to watch the gorgeous sunrise is a must do.


2. The SkyWheel

4. Pelicans Ballpark

The Pelicans Ballpark where the Myrtle Beach Pelicans play is a great sports attraction. Just a few minutes walk from Broadway on the Beach, these Chicago Cub affiliates are a must see when exploring the city, a great game is guaranteed, even if the home team does not win.

The park is open 70 nights a year, with Saturday being the best day to go, with larger crowds and fireworks displays.
It is fun for all the family, with the Pelican and Shark mascots entertaining the children, enough variety of food to feed the whole family and plenty of craft beers to choose from. Visitors will also be pleased to hear you get a Major League experience in a small stadium, that is at a fraction of the cost of a real big league game!

5. Boat And Wildlife Tours

Gator Bait Adventure Tours, Waccamaw River tours and Black River outdoors. Are the Boat tours around Myrtle beach which offer great opportunities to witness the best of the South Carolina wildlife. On these tours you will hopefully see a few of these spectacular animals, Alligators, Egrets, Herons, Osprey, Turtles and more.

There is also Myrtle Beach Safari to explore, that offers very close interactions with lots of animals. An expensive day out, but very worth it for some up close and personal experiences. Have cuddles with baby big cats, monkeys, elephants, and other animals, that you will never forget.


6. Ripley’s Aquarium

Ripley’s Aquarium is open every single day, so whatever time of year you spend in Myrtle Beach you can always visit the creatures of the deep, and sometimes you can even meet a mermaid! Sleep amongst the fishes and sharks this summer, with the variety of sleepovers that are available to book at the Aquarium. Stay with the whole family or have a parents night out this summer holiday when you drop off your children with the Aquarium educators for a night of educational fun. Both need a minimum of ten people.

Make sure to skip the queues by booking online in advance and upgrade your ticket to explore the new attraction. Ripley’s Glass Bottom Boat Adventure, only three inches of glass will separate you from the top predators that call the Dangerous Reef their home.

As Myrtle Beach is referred to as the Golf Capital of the World, this sport should definitely be on your list of things to do when visiting, even if it is just a quick round of mini golf.  Due to this reputation there has been lots of investment into the area, which has been guaranteeing a constant standard of excellence for the golf courses and parks.
There are a great selection of Golf courses to visit, they differ from adventurous themed mini golf like Mt. Atlanticus, to schools like the Classic Swing, which was voted in the top 25 Golf schools in the US by Golf Magazine, and professional golf clubs like King’s North at Myrtle Beach National, voted one of the top ten courses in America by Golf Digest.
