We’re the team behind ist villas, a growing collection of island homes on Kojima Island in Okayama, Japan. ist villas was created with a simple belief: there is no single right way to stay. Some guests come to slow down, unplug, and enjoy digital detox in a quiet island setting. Others come to gather with friends, celebrate milestones, and enjoy the freedom of having their own space. Both are welcome here — without judgement. Our villas are designed to offer choice. Privacy when you want it, shared spaces when you don’t, and just enough structure to make island living easy without feeling controlled. Technology inside the villas is intentionally limited to encourage presence, but connectivity is always available nearby when needed. We live and operate on the island, and a team member is always nearby for assistance while respecting guest privacy.
