St Davids vacation rentals

We had a wonderful long weekend at the Forge with our Greyhound . The space is lovely, clean and comfortable. The bed linen was really fresh and smelled lovely. Everything we needed was available. The TV is quite small for what is a large room and the WiFi sometimes seemed to slow down a little, and as mobile reception is poor the WiFi can be very useful. The Merrivale car park is around 300-400 meters from the forge but it is down a steep hill. So try not to forget to get anything out of the car as a quick run to get it can result in you returning out of breath (I speak from experience!) These are tiny inconveniences compared to all the positives. The location is fantastic. There are two pubs within a stone’s throw and plenty of places to eat only a little further away. The weather was kind to us during our stay and we were able to do a stunning 10 mile costal walk directly from the Forge without needing the car. We’ll be back :)

A lovely cosey “Bothy” equipped with everything two people might need. Wonderful easy access onto stunning coastal paths which was mostly easy to walk but with some occasional steep ascents and descents. The walking was the best we have done for a while and we do lots of walking. Tom the host was very helpful with his messages and e mails leaving really nothing to chance. We had a meal in the near side Harbour Inn, fish and chips, that’s all but it was just what we needed, served by very friendly people and with a few ales to go with it. If you are taller than me (6’2”) you will need to take care not to hit your head in the bedroom. I mention this not as a negative (I would definitely return) only that the taller you are the more careful you have to be. Access to the outside garden was appreciated as after a walk, when it was sunny, it was nice to have a cuppa and cake outside .

We absolutely LOVED staying at Tom’s place! What a gorgeous house with so much space, and the layout was great! The house is so cosy and has everything you need. There was a place to pull up outside so you can unload your bags and a parking permit inside to park for free on the Merrivale Carpark 2 mins away. Once we had parked we didn’t actually leave St David’s as it was just perfect for exploring! There are plenty of places to eat just a short walk from Tom’s place, lovely shops and coastal walks. It’s so nice coming back at the end of the day and pouring a glass of wine, cosying up on the sofa and picking a dvd from the collection. We absolutely loved staying here, I just wish we had longer! I’d highly recommend! And we will definitely be back! Thank you so much.
