South Padre Island vacation rentals

We could not be more pleased with our stay. We use VRBO a lot when we travel, and we have always had a good experience, but our stay at Sheldon's was different. Instead of feeling like an VRBO rental, we felt more like friends had given us access to their fabulous beach condo and they wanted our family to enjoy it as much as they do. Every communication made us feel this way, including the hand-written note we found on arrival about the cookie dough and ice cream that had been left in the freezer for us. That little touch was among many that made us feel so welcomed! Although we never met them in person, we felt their warm hospitality throughout our stay. The condo was perfect for our family of 4. The balcony overlooking the beach was where we spent a lot of time when the weather wasn't great - it was nice to still be able to sit outside and hear the waves. The beds were very comfortable. The towels - and there are a ton of them! - were RIDICULOUSLY soft and luxurious. Even our little guy commented on the towels! Everything we needed to make meals was in the kitchen and it was great having access to a washer and dryer. The shower heads were awesome and had great water pressure. It was so nice to have shampoo, conditioner, and body wash available so we didn't have to worry about packing it. There were all sorts of board games available and we had such fun playing them. The Blu-Ray/DVD player and included Amazon prime video were great for movie marathons in the evenings. The heated pool was a huge hit with the kids! The location cannot be beat. The area is super walkable. We walked just a few minutes to breakfast at the Grapevine Cafe and to Blue Marlin grocery. Sheldon, thanks for sharing your place! We hope to be back!

After a family trip to Italy was cancelled, we decided on an impromptu trip to South Padre Island and from the very beginning of planning this replacement trip it was a fantastic experience! The owners were extremely understanding as we tried to piece our crazy trip together and could not have been easier to work with. We ended up reserving both of their 2 bedroom condos and it worked perfectly for our group of 7, Both condos (1105 and 503) were beautifully decorated and stocked with every first class appliance, accessory and amenity one could think of! Upon our arrival, imagine our surprise walking into a room filled with helium balloons celebrating my husband's birthday! The beginning of our joyous vacation! Each condo is fully stocked with brand new Tommy Bahama beach chairs, umbrellas, pop up tent, beach towels and a cart to take all to the beach! I personally think Ocean Vista Tower has the best location on the island. You are actually in walking distance of many of your preferred destinations and it has the most spectacular beach and bay views! These units have your sunrise and sunsets covered! I can assure you Sheldon and Serena are a joy to work with and this property is a rare find on the island! We have literally rented properties around the world and this is a great one! All I can say is WOW. If you are looking for a GREAT place to stay for vacation this is the place to go. The pictures do not give this house the justice it deserves. I stayed here with 7 other people and we had more than enough space. The house was huge. It had a washer and dryer which was perfect for when getting out of the pool or coming from the beach. The beach was about a 2 minute walk from the house and you can see the ocean from the top deck. The pool was beautiful and much bigger than we thought and we really enjoying grilling on the pit while enjoying the pool. The house had everything we needed from beach supplies (beach towels, beach chairs, umbrellas, sand toys for kids) and pool supplies ( floats, noodles, beach balls). As you can see everything you will possibly need is already there for you. Last thing is the host David was extremely helpful and communicated very well. Anything I needed he was more than helpful to answer and was just amazing. So I recommend staying at this home if you really want an amazing smooth vacation.

Very nice condo on the beach. The views from the balcony are great. Easy access to the beach via boardwalk. The beach is kept clean daily. I will say we learned real fast that we were not allowed to have chairs on the beach until after 9 am. they did allow us to keep them up that one morning since we were sitting in them at the time beach patrol came by. We never saw any signs on this, it was what beach patrol told us. Had we been walking when they came by, we would have lost our chairs. They would have picked them up and discarded them. The unit is as described on the listing. The bed was comfortable and the complex was quite during our stay. The beach accessories on the balcony were there. We didn't use them due to having our own. The complex is kept tidy and clean by the on site staff. It was also nice to have the security gates, not that the area was bad, but just not having any worries about our car. There is also a tennis court on site. The unit does have tennis rackets and ball. I expect the owners of the complex to be updating to pickle ball in the near future, just to keep up with the times. But if you are still into tennis, your set up. Oh and there was a basketball goal on the tennis court as well. The pools were clean, there was a kiddie pool, an adult pool and hot tub. I noted they were cleaned every morning by the staff.

We are a family of 6 - 13, 11, 8, and 7 year old kids. The accommodations were just right. There were two couches that could sleep one or two small kids each and then a tall blow up double mattress that fit two kids. The double bed in the room was VERY comfy and I'm picky about beds. The kitchen was a good size and the place was very clean. It's the perfect place if you're planning to spend most of your time at the beach. The building itself is a bit older yet he pool area was nice and the hot tub was wonderful. The walk to the beach took maybe a minute. It was a great location and perfect for a beach get away. We went on a Tuesday and stayed for two nights. Wednesday, while at the beach, SPI (local business that hosts day camps for kids) had surf lessons going on that our kids were able to sign up for last minute. They were able to do private lessons right after the day camp for $50 an hour. That was so nice. Great experience. I would totally recommend this place.

The living room and master bedroom furniture was bulky and made those areas seem tight and awkward, even with just 1 adults and 3 kids. Condo is as pictured in the listing but in reality the spaces could be more functional. We couldn't figure out the two TV's with the multiple (5?) remotes but that wasn't enough of an issue to reach out- A tv instruction guide would have been helpful. The refrigerator does not make ice and there were no ice trays available in the freezer or cabinet to make ice. Even with those inconveniences, this place is 5 stars. CLEAN, blackout curtains in master, atleast 6 bath towels were provided plus wash rags, hand towels, pool towels, extra TP, shampoo, conditioner and body wash! We look forward to booking this unit again!

Great place within walking distance to many nice places to eat and the beach. Really nice neighbors in the adjacent condos. Really good accommodations, updated recently so new appliances and furniture. Very comfortable bed and couches. Washer and dryer, nice pool and shared patio. Has nice amount of cooking pans and utensils. Hair dryer, one walk in shower and one with tub. Keurig coffee pot for kcups or larger pot. Needed to extend our stay due to snow storm in MSP and David was quick to respond to confirm the availability for us to stay. Would have loved to book this for a couple of months next winter but neighbors said they have it booked already for the time we were looking at. Only recommendation would be to increase towels and wash clothes for the bathroom and dishrags and towels in kitchen.

Awesome vacation rental experience! We were a family of eight. 6 Adults, 9yo & 15yo. Upon first getting to the house the location was perfect being just steps from the sand then a few more to the beach! This allowed for a beautiful view of the sunrise & a beautiful view of the ocean from the second floor deck. The house is beautifully decorated with the beach vibes everywhere. It was exceptionally clean & stayed cooled the whole stay. The main living area/kitchen area are very open & welcoming to having family socializing as you prep/cook meals. If you choose to cook your own meals the amazing oven is a treat along with a ginormous fridge for all you grub! The host have ensured the kitchen is truly well stocked with everything you need to make a delicious meal. And as others have mentioned the ice machine is a lifesaver. We also used the outdoor grill which worked great. The beds were perfect for all 6 adults, comfortable & plenty of pillows. And the bunks were spot on for the kids. The pool was just the right size & I loved the decor they chose for the pool. The bathrooms were perfect! TVs in every bedroom/living area were a plus. Internet service worked with no problems. Plenty of outdoor eating, sitting & just lounging spaces. Plenty of towels, pool/beach toys, boogie boards & a durable wagon to take those extras to the beach. Bill & Linda we’re superb host. They provided all the info I needed prior to the trip & were prompt to answer any questions I had via text, phone or email. They were very accessible. My whole family truly enjoyed this very cozy & welcoming home. The kids especially loved the pool for late night quiet swims. Thank you to Bill & Linda for allowing us to enjoy it. Felicia
