At the Bray Hill House we focus on family escapes and couple retreats and of course pups. We provide a high-end secluded homebase for our guests to spend quality time together relaxing, cooking, playing, bonding and making memories. Mountain vistas from the deck are unmatched and sunrises and sunsets are breathtaking.
I’m a bit of a geek and a numbers guy and that clearly comes out in this post. I say this as a warning to the reader but a curious person will find this interesting nonetheless.
This blog post is about our statistics and your statistics. We used to know more about you like your home address, phone number and email address but Airbnb and VRBO are telling us less and less these days. We still know a few things, like if you have a family in tow, and if you travel with your pooch(s). We also know a little about ourselves from what you tell us.
A little about you
71% of you visit us in the White Mountains from New England except Vermont. I have no record of Vermonters staying with us, where’s the love! But we get smatterings from everywhere in the US, 28 states in all. Finally, a big shout out to our guests from Canada, Norway, Scotland, and England for helping make us an international vacation rental.
We might be your cup of tea if you drink tea, coffee, wine, water, and hot chocolate because we give these to all of our guests! We are most popular with families and can easily accommodate grandparents, parents and a few children.
Families with children make up 48% of our bookings, and many visit Santa’s village only 5 miles away and Bretton Woods only 19 miles away. Parents and children love our family amenities like the game room with an arcade,darts, pingpong table and sidewalk chalk. Upstairs we offer playstation, bath toys, board games, children's library and craft center. Here, it is easy to keep everyone entertained.
Couples enjoying us as a retreat often on special occasions like an anniversary or birthday make up 22% of our bookings. At the house it’s easy to relax with the sauna, Russian fireplace and chef's kitchen. Out and about they enjoy sightseeing, shopping and dining in the local villages like Littleton and Lancaster.
The remaining 30% are adult groups of family or friends. They use us as a basecamp for cooking together, recovery and relaxing after skiing and hiking in the mountains.
We also might be your cup of tea if you travel with your pooch since 54% of you do, and we are pooch friendly. They love the outdoor freedom and walking trails in addition to our dog amenities such as bowls, dog towels, beds, and treats. And apparently, they love our guest book too!

A little about us
We are especially proud of our perfect, unbroken streak of 143 five-star reviews on Vrbo where we get 57% of our bookings. Airbnb lags behind with 26% of our bookings, and guests there like us too with an average 4.97-stars from 66 reviews. 11% book on our website and the remaining 6% come from other listing sites like Booking, Houfy and now defunct TripAdvisor. We have over 210 reviews. That means two-thirds of you write reviews and think we are doing a pretty good job!
We are not resting on our laurels. We strive to be good stewards of the property and great hosts to you so that you have an amazing experience. We want you to feel at home as soon as you walk in the door. To improve your experience, we’ve added air conditioning in the whole house, a generator in case a Nor’easter knocks out the power, an electric car charger, and dozens of amenities big and small to help you relax and enjoy your stay.
