As you arrive, you may see their "Husband Drop-Off" sign, beckoning thirsty travelers at the gateway to the Shenandoah Valley. And with good reason: Amador Brewing Company is literally the last stop before all the winery tasting rooms start vying for your attention. But be assured, this is a destination unto itself. The interior is rustic and welcoming, with seating indoors as well as outdoors on the patio (the patio is dog-friendly). While it can get crowded at peak times, folks are friendly and helpful, and you will never feel rushed.

There is always a good variety of craft brews on offer, from light session beers to dark and rich ones. You can opt for pints or, if you're like me, a flight of tasters so you can try different ones without commitment. They also sell growlers to go, perfect for enjoying back at the cabin while you bbq up dinner!

A rotating cast of food trucks provides the opportunity to get your grub on while enjoying the local scenery.
