I fell in love with the 30-A area the first time I visited in in 2003. The beaches are some of the most beautiful I've seen in the world and I've been to Australia, Mexico and many Caribbean Islands. The white soft sand melts into the clear emerald green water. You often see dolphins swimming in the water just off the shore. The south Walton area has beautiful dune lakes with water that flows in and out according to the rainfall. There are only a few places in the world where these lakes are located; Australia, Madagascar, New Zealand, the coast of Oregon, South Carolina and Northwest Florida. The dune lakes are the perfect place to paddle board and kayak in the calm peaceful water. Nature can be appreciated all along 30-A. There are numerous State Parks in the area: Camp Helen State Park, Deer Lake State Park, Eden Gardens State Park, Grayton Beach State Park, Point Washington State Park, and Topsail Hill Preserve State Park where you can enjoy beach access, nature, and hiking trails. There are no billboards or chain restaurants to be found on 30-A. There are 16 unique beach communities with unique shops, art galleries, locally owned restaurants and entertainment hubs. The bike path stretches the entire length of 30-A enticing you to explore the area. If you decide to come to 30-A, you won't be disappointed and I think you'll fall in love too.
