Welcome to Pining for Adventure — the little corner of the internet where we share our love for Pine Creek Cottage, Rim Country adventures, cozy cabin life, and all the local gems that make this place feel like home. When we dove into the world of short‑term rentals back in October 2025, we were learning on the fly. But one thing we knew from the start? If we were going to invest in a cabin, we were also going to invest in the community around it.

Supporting local isn’t just something we say — it’s the heartbeat of Pine Creek Cottage and of our family. Small towns like Pine and Strawberry thrive when visitors choose local shops, local food, and local experiences. Every purchase, every conversation, every stop at a family‑run business helps keep the spirit of this mountain town alive.

And honestly? We LOVE Pine. Every time we’re up at the cabin, we make it a point to try a new spot, meet a new neighbor, or discover a new trail. We’re big believers that adventure and good food go hand‑in‑hand — and Pine delivers both in the best ways.

Here are a few of our favorite local spots (so far!) — the places we find ourselves returning to again and again.

🪵 1. Rim Country Charm & Old Settlers Village

If you love vintage finds, quirky treasures, and that “you never know what you’ll discover” feeling, this is your place. Kaylee, the owner of Rim Country Charm, is a wealth of knowledge about Pine — from local history to the best places to explore.

This is also where we pick up the Rim Rock Coffee we stock for all our guests at Pine Creek Cottage. Supporting local and fueling your morning? Yes please.

🍔 2. Old Country Burger

Listen… these smash burgers are next‑level. Crispy edges, juicy centers, and fries that are honestly some of the best we’ve ever had. Our kids are obsessed with the Pine Cone ice cream, and we love that it’s the kind of place where everyone feels welcome after a hike, a stroll, or a long cabin‑lounging day.

3. Pine Creek Fudge & Espresso

We’re coffee people — like, serious coffee people — so we’re always on the hunt for a good cup. Pine Creek Fudge & Espresso hits the spot every time. And the fudge? A perfect pairing. Our kids love the ice cream, and we love that it’s a sweet little stop right in town.

💜 4. Pine Creek Lavender Farm

If lavender, gardening, and all things cozy make your heart happy, this place is a dream. The scents alone are worth the visit, but we also love stocking up on tea, candles, lotions, bath products, and more. It’s peaceful, beautiful, and such a special part of the Pine community.

🌲 Why Local Love Matters

Small tourist towns like Pine thrive when visitors choose local. Every shop, café, farm, and family‑run business adds to the magic of this place. When you stay at Pine Creek Cottage, you’re not just booking a cabin — you’re becoming part of a community that values connection, creativity, and the outdoors.

We’ll keep sharing our favorite finds as we explore more of Pine and Strawberry. And if you discover a spot you love during your stay, tell us — we’re always ready for our next adventure.
