Podcast Episode 34 Recap

In this month's episode, we sit down with Carly Beck, the energetic and inspiring co-founder of Carlton Cruisers—the brand new bike rental service in Carlton Landing that’s already turning heads with its vintage beachy vibes and charming backstory.

Spoiler: this business was born from a spontaneous idea in February... and became reality just two months later.

A Leap of Faith on Two Wheels:

From Realtor.com to Reality

Carly and her husband Adam were just browsing vacation spots in February (2025!) when Carly stumbled upon Carlton Landing. What started as a casual scroll quickly became something more. “I felt this strong push,” Carly says. “I told Adam, ‘We’re starting a cruiser bike rental business in Carlton Landing.’ He was like… what?!”

The twist? They had never even been to Carlton Landing before.

Building a Business from Scratch

Within days, they were researching the area, drafting a business plan (after a bold cold email to the town’s foundation), and driving up from Flower Mound, Texas, to visit in person. The response from the community? Immediate and overwhelmingly positive.

Even with zero experience in bike rentals, Carly dove in. She learned everything from tire inflation to assembling bikes with the help of family, YouTube, and a lot of hustle. The result? A fleet of 62 colorful cruiser bikes, ready to deliver a little seaside nostalgia to Oklahoma’s most charming town.

What Makes Carlton Cruisers Different?

These aren’t just any bikes—they’re adorable, vintage-style cruisers in soft yellow and seafoam teal, designed to match Carlton Landing’s aesthetic. The lineup includes adult trikes, 7-speed bikes, and kid sizes too, each delivered directly to your rental home and picked up when you check out. “We wanted it to feel seamless,” Carly explains.

You’ll find the team at weekend pop-up events or online, where booking is as easy as clicking a link in their Instagram bio or CarltonCruisers.com. Every bike comes with a helmet, basket, and lock—no smart racks or app needed (yet).

A Community That Rallies Around You

Starting a business in a place you’ve never lived might sound risky, but Carly shares how warmly the Carlton Landing community embraced them—from residents and other small businesses to folks back in Florida offering industry tips.

“The people here are just so kind, encouraging, and helpful,” Carly says. “We’ve felt lifted up at every step.”
