30 years ago I married a professional chef. Now mind you, we met in the hotel industry. I had been working at RockResorts all through high school and college. So, before I went to graduate school in Cambridge, Ma. I wanted to explore the USA. I met John at the Grand Teton National Park, Jackson Hole Resort in Moran, Wy...... Oh no. We didn't start there. We didn't even date. It took us to meet up in 2 more places in the USA to finally get together. That is another story. What I do want to say is that if you are any good at cooking, but not professionally trained, you are doomed if you marry a professionally trained chef. Dating, we usually went out. We lived in Boston and I was a waitress (one of the best jobs I've had) at Legal Seafoods. I waitressed my way through grad school and John worked for Boston Park Plaza. He went on to be a para legal, but that is also another story too. So, speed ahead. Wedding done. Move to Vermont. Living at Happy Acres on 20 Mile Stream in Reading, Vermont. I am cooking dinner and the oven starts to catch on fire. I'm no Ellie Mae. I know how to cook. However, a fight ensues that leads to 30 years of not having to cook. Girls...PM me! So, let's speed ahead. John goes away on artist retreat to learn to weld better....that's another story. I decide I am going to explore all the local Farmers Markets to be able to write GUIDES for this Houfy thing I'm into and that is another story. So let me tell you......
