When my husband and I got married, a local artisan made his wedding ring out of gold from this brook. Mined by a local man just panning for gold for fun, he sold the gold to the local artisan, Peter Manship. It was a nicely shaped band with gold nuggets in it. Unfortunately it was lost in a lake several years ago.

I love to pan for gold but on this channel I will try to bring you on a variety of adventures like metal detecting. I really like the beaches but I live almost 3 hours away from the ocean.
This is the entrance to the hike, across the road from the park entrance and to the right of the cemetery on the hill.
