FOOD SHOPPING & FARMER’S MARKETS
Singleton's This is a great store to buy meat and other specialty items, hard liquor, beer and wine. It is located in Proctorsville, Vermont. If you are coming north from I91 via Vt route 103, you will go right by this. To get there, turn right onto route 131 after the only RR tracks you will have to cross while on 103 from Chester to Ludlow. It is right up the road on your right. You can’t miss it.
Shaw’s- in Ludlow there is a Shaw's. I usually stop there as well and do my shopping before I get to the cottage. It's about 15 minutes before you reach the house. http://www.shaws.com/pd/stores/VT/Ludlow/Shaws-Ludlow-VT-(213-Main-St)/5E4278796
Ludlow Farmer’s Market- On summer Fridays in Ludlow by the high school 4-7 pm.
Woodstock Farmer’s Market- If you are coming up I89 from Boston you will go right by this store. Located on Route 4 in Woodstock. It’s the very best place for epicurean delights! If you need smoked trout pate, this is where you go. If heading towards the cottage, it is on your left after the White Cottage Snack Bar. If coming from the cottage towards Woodstock, it is located just past the Woodstock Union High School as you head into Woodstock, on the right. They have a free-range farm-to-table meats.
White Cottage Snack Bar - If you are coming up I89 from Boston you will go right by this snack bar. Located on Route 4 in Woodstock. Classic snack bar food from burgers, and onion rings, to fried clams, fries, and what we call "creemies" (soft ice cream) around here. It's been around forever. In HS we used to skip down for lunch cuz seniors were allowed to leave school.
Gillingham’s- Located in the middle of Woodstock. You can find old-time items here.
Woodstock Farmer’s Market- On the Green in Woodstock every summer Wednesday 3-6 pm.
Vermont Farmer’s Markets around the state.

The menu is constantly changing, dictated primarily by the seasons, what they pull out of their own gardens, or what they have sourced from local farmers and growers. All of the meat is sourced locally, sometimes as local as just up the street. They buy whole animals and butcher everything in house utilizing the entire animal for a variety of applications.
The Inn At Weathersfield 802.263.9217 Weathersfield, Vermont 30 minutes
They know our farmers by name. For most of the year, over 75% of our ingredients come from within a 25-mile radius of the inn or from our own IW Heirloom Garden. So…when tomato or corn are not in season, you’re probably not going to find it on our menu unless it has been preserved. To be an authentic farm-to-table restaurant, they know they have to keep things REAL.
