REMEMBER:
Check-out time is no later than 11 am, as our cleaning staff will arrive at that time to prepare the cottage for our next guests.
Here are some additional reminders that may help you. Prior to your departure, please tidy up the cottage by doing the following:
- Close all windows (they lock automatically if you close them fully). They are getting elderly (aren't we all), so you may need to shut them firmly a couple of times for the locks to connect.
- Clean up after your pet outside. A dog poo bag dispenser is hanging in the backyard.
- Remove perishable food that you brought with you to the cottage.
- Clean all dishes, unload the dishwasher, and put all dishes away. Cabinets and drawers in the kitchen are labeled to help you place items in the correct location.
- Place all used sheets and bath linens in the laundry room. DO NOT remove mattress pads and zippered pillow covers. We'll take care of the rest. Leave the bedspreads and pillows in the rooms. A neatly made bed and folded bath linens tell us you didn't use them (and therefore do not need to be laundered).
- Return the hammock, umbrella, cushions, and other amenities to the three-season room by the door closest to the shed.
- Cool-weather guests - If electric heat thermostats in any room were turned on during your stay, they must be turned off (except for the bathrooms, which should be set to 55 degrees).
- Cool-weather guests - Ensure both gas fireplaces are turned off (but don't turn off the pilot lights).
- Place all RINSED, NOT BAGGED recycling in the marked containers outside.
- Place all BAGGED and SECURED trash in the marked containers outside,
- Turn off all lights except those marked otherwise.
- Lock all exterior doors.
Our cleaning fee is based on a typical changeover cleaning at our cottage. Changeover costs above this amount are the guest's responsibility and may incur additional fees as outlined in the rental agreement.
