What an absolute sweetheart he is! You’re gonna love him, maybe as much as he is gonna love you! We just can’t wait for you to finally meet him! This is Lincoln!

My husband and I were fortunate enough to have a day out with your dear, sweet Lincoln today. We participated in a monthly program at the York County SPCA called Dogs’ Day Out, so we got to pick up Lincoln in the morning, and the three of us went all around the county finding fun and making smiles.

Lincoln was so pleased to see us that he jumped eagerly into the car for our quick little ride to Rudy Park We were thrilled to see his love of car travel, windows lowered, his head resting on the frame, ears blowing back in the wind. Once at the park, we walked, he sniffed, and we all enjoyed the morning shade of the trees along the path. Don’t you agree that he will be a great fit for your busy days? He won’t mind going anywhere with you, whether it be errands around town or an evening walk at the park, he can be your devoted travel buddy.

We were told that this brown-eye-beauty’s favorite outdoor activity was back scratching by rolling excitedly in the grass. Yep, that was quickly evident. The upside-down smiles and tongue-wagging were a treat to watch. It’s a good thing that you live by a thick grassy lawn and nearby parks to give you both the joy of roly-poly fun!

Along the path today we said hello to bicyclists, joggers, big adults, and little children. There were other dogs, some squirrels, and birds all around. The great news is that Lincoln just walked happily along, never flinching or activating in any way other than a tail wag or the lift of the ears. That will be perfect for your busy life and activities. He just seems happy to be there with you and the people in your life.

Another great quality about your brindle bundle of joy is that he is quite patient. While we chatted with folks at Lowe’s, or as we waited for our Pup Cup and Blizzards at Dairy Queen, Lincoln just laid down on the cool floor or under the shady umbrella and was content. We thought of you right away, because we know you have been wanting a dog who can sit and relax, and not have to be entertained and active at all times. We aren't exactly sure how old Lincoln is, but he is a mature guy, and that allows him to take things in stride more than younger dogs.

Only a few hours into our day, that 76-pound lump of love decided to tell me he was a lap dog. It didn’t matter that he was tethered to the back seat in the car (safety first). Your muscular “Lincoln log” managed to get his two front paws over the center console and into my lap in the front passenger seat. He gently laid his head down in my lap and closed his eyes, and I knew exactly the thing he loved even more than those back scratches in the grass. It is LOVE. He just wants to love you, and for you to love him. I do not doubt that you will, as soon as you meet him.

Lincoln has been waiting for you to love him for a while, as he has been a resident of the York County SPCA for more than five months. You understand how a dog of a certain, year, make, and model requires just the right person to rescue him. I know you were holding off a bit until the “right time” for a dog to be added to your household. But today, as we got to know Lincoln, we realized that right now is probably the time and you are probably the right person. This beautiful boy is waiting for you. Won’t you consider meeting him this week? He wants another day out at the park, but this time, with his furrever family.
