The owners of the wildly popular Blue Paddle Bistro in South Hero, Vermont have opened a summer satellite sensation, The Blue Paddle on the Bay. The food truck kitchen offers grilled items like beef burgers, hot dogs, black bean burgers and hand-punched fries. But they also offer lobster rolls and wood-fired pizzas!
Friends led us to the Happy Pike Ice Cream & Snack Bar in West Chazy, NY, just next door to Monty Bay Marina. Before our ride, I didn't know West Chazy, New York bordered Lake Champlain! We get so caught up in our regular hang-outs. This was a nice change.
Neither Andy or I wanted to prepare dinner tonight. While I was down at the dock collecting photos of the glorious sunset, Andy was on the phone with the hostess at Blue Paddle Bistro in South Hero. He made a reservation and we had 15 minutes to get there!
Oh, if your mind is in the gutter, try again! I was really hankering for a Hero's Welcome Deli made sandwich wrap this afternoon. And what better way to get there are on sunny 78 degree day than by riding a bicycle!
I make a point of reaching a destination on my bike rides. Often that destination involves a meal or a dessert. I need to reward myself for the exercise. This time, my journey brought me 14.5 miles round trip between The Green Cottage in Grand Isle, Vermont to Two Heroes Grill & Bar in North Hero.
