What To See On Kauai - Kilauea Lighthouse - Kauai, Hawaii
A must-see for anyone visiting Kauai, especially if you are a bird or whale lover, is the Kilauea Lighthouse. It is a photographer's dream location. Sweeping, panoramic, whitewater views, with sea birds circling above and burrowing on land, one can not help but get an impressive shot of the beauty that makes Kauai so special.
What To Do On A Rainy Day - Kauai Museum - Kauai, Hawaii
I know, you want to be on a beach, but what happens when you wake up to a rainy day on Kauai? How about a visit to our Kauai Museum. The two buildings are situated in Lihue, just down the street from the airport, and they are filled with artifacts of Kauai's history and culture.
What To See In Kauai - Wai'oli Church - Hanalei, Kauai
Whether attending a church service or not, Wai'oli Church in Hanalei is well worth a stop when driving from Honu Point to the end of the road. I don't often go to church myself but occasionally I have a family member or friend who would like to attend.
Visit Kauai's Princeville Botanical Gardens
If you're into lush foliage, exotic flowers, unusual fruit trees, beehives, chocolate, and a good time you must visit Kauai's Princeville Botanical Gardens. Friends of mine, Bill and Lucinda, have created over 8 acres of Paradise and have opened up their property for tours.
What To Do In Kauai - Na Aina Kai Botanical Gardens - Kilauea
Wondering what to do in Kauai - for natural and sculpted beauty, go to Na Aina Kai ("Lands by the Sea") Botanical Gardens in Kilauea. It has quite a history. Opened to the public in 2000, it is 240 acres of unfolding artistic creations, both natural and man-made, all a result of the vision of its founders, Ed and Joyce Doty.
Visit Kauai's Hindu Temple and Sanctuary
One of the hidden treasures that shouldn't be missed while visiting Kauai is the Hindu Temple and Sanctuary in the hills behind Kapaa. It is an architectual wonder and America's only all-granite Hindu Sanctuary. It started in 1975 as Satguru Sivaya Subramuniyaswami's (1927-2001) vision of a pure and powerful white granite temple sculpted in India and erected ten thousand miles away on Kauai.
Day Trip To The USS Arizona Memorial - Kauai To Oahu - Hawaii
Visiting the USS Arizona Memorial from Kauai, you say? Yes, I didn't realize day trip tours of the historical monument are available until something caught my eye on Facebook. Most people visit the memorial when they are on the island of Oahu.
Who Wants To Be In The Movies? - Kauai-Hawaii
Who wants to be in the movies? There is a casting call for extra and specialty work happening on Saturday, March 31st. It is for a Disney feature film being filmed on Kauai this summer. The title is still under wraps but rumor has it that the film is based on the Disneyland theme park ride Jungle Cruise.
