🌲 A Cabin With a Soul — Authentic, Hand-Built, and Completely Unique

Tomhegan Cabin isn’t just a place to stay — it’s an experience. Handcrafted from local logs and perched high on the hillside overlooking Moosehead Lake, this rustic retreat is surrounded by 100 private acres of forest and wildlife. It’s quiet, peaceful, and beautifully imperfect in all the best ways — a place designed for those who crave nature, simplicity, and that rare “cabin in the woods” feeling you can’t get anywhere else.

This is not a modern, polished vacation home — it’s a nostalgic, wood-scented, cabin experience where life slows down, the stars feel closer, and silence becomes something you can feel.

🌲 The Land — 100 Acres of Wilderness to Explore

This cabin sits on an expansive private property with:

🥾 Hand-cut hiking trails
🌲 Quiet forest paths
🦌 Constant wildlife activity (moose, deer, eagles, owls)
🌊 A trail leading down to Moosehead Lake

🌅 Panoramic lake & mountain views from the ridge

The dock is accessible via a rugged, adventurous trail (more of a hike than a casual walk). Expect an authentic outdoor experience — uneven ground, roots, and natural terrain. Proper footwear recommended.

🛑 Rustic Cabin Disclaimer – Please Read

By booking this cabin, you acknowledge the authentic Northern Maine wilderness environment:

🛡️ Pet-Friendly Property & Pest Control: This property is pet-friendly and receives professional pest control services from Modern Pest. Preventative pest control measures inside the home help keep unwanted pests away and maintain a clean, comfortable environment for our guests. Modern Pest utilizes tamper-resistant bait stations for added safety. However, for your pets' safety, all pets must be supervised at all times while on the property.

🐭 Mice: Common in wooded areas, especially in colder months. We treat regularly, but sightings may occur.
❄️ Ice & Snow: Winter conditions may be slippery despite shoveling and salting.
🕸️ Spiders/Webs/Bugs: Nature is close! We clean before every stay, but webs and insects return quickly.
🌲 Rustic Wear: This is an older, hand-built cabin with quirks, charm, and imperfections.

This is for guests who want authentic over luxury — and an unforgettable experience in the Maine woods.
