The Cabin at Sunnycrest - Roanoke

Minimum 30 day stays only. Beautiful late 1800's Log Cabin guest house on owners 6 acre property with it's own street entrance. Private but not secluded. Just outside of the city limits. 15 minutes away from everything including downtown, airport, all area hospitals, hiking and more! Completely remodeled and updated to the 21st century. Perfect for mid to long term travel healthcare and professionals. No pets allowed, sorry.

The space
The Cabin is designed to graciously accommodate 1-2 guests. It’s far enough away, but just close enough to everything that the city has to offer. Roanoke City, airport, I-81, the Blue Ridge Parkway, mountain biking, and the Appalachian Trail are all 15-20 minutes away. Restaurants, gyms, grocery stores and hiking are even closer. The Cabin is centrally located, but with a country vibe and room to stretch out.
Luxurious Queen-size bed with iron headboard, morning coffee on the covered porch listening to the songbirds and watch the wildlife. The authentic 100+ year old log cabin is a cozy 700 square feet and perfect for traveling healthcare or business professionals, quiet space to conduct remote business, or for the busy professional to unwind in peace.
The Cabin has been completely remodeled from top to bottom and boasts all modern amenities including central heat and air, extra insulation, large closet, plantation blinds, LED lighting, full size fridge with ice-maker, smooth top range, microwave, dishwasher, washer/dryer combo, in-wall USB charging ports for your devices, and so much more!
Dim the lights and de-stress with a book and a glass of wine in the vintage 1933 claw-foot tub or enjoy the tile shower with endless hot water courtesy of our on-demand, energy efficient tank-less water heater.
The Kitchen features a full array of pots, pans, utensils, small appliances, oils and spices. We keep a starter assortment of teas and coffee stocked as well. Both Publix and Kroger grocery stores are a short 5 minute drive away, with everything you could need.
If the weather is bad or you just feel like staying in, we have a 55" 4k Smart TV with Netflix, Amazon Prime and YouTubeTV for local and national channels, including most news and sports channels. There is a wireless Bluetooth sound bar for music in the house, using your device. Also, an assortment of board games, cards, checkers, and chess, and paperbacks including hiking, biking, paddling and Blue Ridge Parkway guides. But best of all, porch sitting and listening to rain on the tin roof is an excellent way to spend an afternoon!

Guest access
There is direct street access and private parking for up to 2 cars at The Cabin. There is a key code lock box mounted on the porch column and 2 spare keys on a key hook just inside the side door. This allows easy access for guests with delayed and late arrival times. We have solar LED motion detector lights to simplify your nighttime arrival and key code function. At checkout, simply lock the door, return the key to the key box on departure, close the box and roll the numbers to lock it.
The street as well as The Cabin parking are not suitable for large RV's, trailers or moving vans. If arriving with an oversize or towed vehicle, please call 1st. There are several nearby parking options..

Other things to note
Our 6 acre property includes the large grassy area to the right of the Cabin as well as the wooded area on the left, and down to the creek and road at the bottom of the hill below our house. Feel free to use the yard, but please do not wander onto any neighbor’s property without an invitation.
We have a small fire pit in the yard of the Cabin, and you are welcome to make a camp fire to kick back and enjoy the evening with your favorite beverage. Wood and kindling is provided, and (2) chairs are available for use.
The covered side porch has a ceiling fan with remote located just inside the door, privacy/sunscreen roll down awnings, gas grill, and great yard views.
There is covered storage on the front porch for your bikes or kayaks. We even provide a keyed cable lock for security.
The Cabin is strictly non-vaping and non-smoking of any kind indoors. Smoking is permitted outdoors on the porch or at the fire pit only. An ashtray is provided for your use. PLEASE do not leave butts or debris in the yard, and make sure that all smoking materials are properly extinguished!
