Henmore Hideaway: Tissington Trail | Dovedale - Derbyshire

Welcome to Henmore Hideaway, our lovingly restored Victorian family home on the edge of the Peak District. Whether you're here to hike to Dovedale with your dog (10-min drive), bike the Tissington Trail (8-min walk), visit Alton Towers (20-min drive), or work remotely, this is your sanctuary.

Enjoy a secure south-facing garden, cosy log burner, and a 10-minute walk to Ashbourne town centre. Comfortably sleeping 6, we offer 3 beautiful bedrooms, a modern shower room, and a full kitchen.

The space
Step inside our loved and lived-in home, designed to be your ultimate comfy spot after a day of exploring and adventures.

🛋️ The Living Room: Our living area features two large leather sofas, a smart TV (complete with guest access to Amazon Prime Video), dog blankets for the sofa, end tables, a selection of classic board games for family evenings and cosy log burner to keep you toasty in winter.

🍽️ The Kitchen & Dining Space: Fully stocked with the essentials you need to feel at home: pans, baking trays, and utensils to basic cooking items like salt, pepper, kitchen roll, and cleaning supplies. Enjoy dinners together in the open dining space.

🛏️ The Bedrooms: Retaining their original character, each bedroom is dressed in crisp, fresh linens and features views out over the surrounding fields:

🟢 The Dovedale: Features a luxurious king-size natural material bed, dressing table and wardrobe.

🔵 The Stepping Stones: Has a comfortable king-size natural material bed, wadrobe and houses our dedicated workspace.

🔴 The Thorpe Cloud: Perfect for families, this room has a bunk bed with eco-foam mattresses (a small double on the bottom and a single on top) and a chest of drawers.

🛁 The Bathroom & WC: Our house has a modern shower room upstairs with a toilet, sink and shower. Downstairs, we have a WC just off the hallway with a toilet and sink.

🌸 The Garden & Outdoors: The highlight of our home is the south facing private three-tier garden out back. Here you'll find a dedicated outdoor seating for 6 people, perfect for sunny morning coffees or evening drinks - a grassy area to play and a fire pit at the bottom.

🚗 Parking: There is free on-street parking directly outside the property. The road can get busy at school pick up and rush hour but there is usually a space directly outside.

🚶We are a 10 minute walk from Ashbourne town centre with lots of cafes, pubs, bars, independent shops, parks and the start of The Tissington Trail.

🏞️ We are a 10 minute drive to Dovedale, a beautiful valley in the Peak District with many walking trails.

🚲🐕👶 Families, dogs, and bikes are welcome!

Guest access
Guests have exclusive, private access to the entire house and rear garden. Check-in is completely seamless and keyless via our smart lock keypad, allowing you to arrive at your convenience anytime after 3:00 PM.

Other things to note
To make your stay as easy as possible, we provide everyday essentials, including fluffy towels, hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, washing up liquid, tea towels and initial toilet papers.

Dogs are incredibly welcome! We just ask that they use our provided dog blankets on the furniture, stay attended while outside in the garden, and use our handy outdoor back-door hose to clean off muddy paws (dog towels are also provided).

Being parents ourselves, we also love families staying in our home! If you are in need of a travel cot or highchair, please let us know with at least a few days notice and we can get one set up for you. There is a chain lock on the front door to keep little ones safe from getting out to the road. The back door is a normal key, so can be locked and taken out.

Out of respect for our lovely neighborhood community on this quiet terrace, we observe quiet hours between 10:00 PM and 8:00 AM, and maintain a strict zero-tolerance policy for smoking or vaping anywhere inside the property.
