The spa-like bathroom boasts a black-framed glass shower, 3D wave tiles, and an illuminated modern vanity.
--- Bedrooms & Lofts ---
The home sleeps up to eight guests (six comfortably across three distinct sleeping areas, plus two extra if needed), kept perfectly cool by three air conditioning units:
1) The Glass Loft (Mesarí 1): Ascend the striking black metal spiral staircase from the living room into a stunning, glass-enclosed loft featuring a comfortable Queen bed.
2) The Hammock Loft (Mesarí 2): Located off the main hall, this secondary suite features a private sitting room with a relaxing hammock swing chair. The second metal spiral staircase leads up to a cozy second loft with another Queen bed.
3) The Ground Floor Room: A cozy, enclosed bedroom on the main level featuring a normal twin bed with a second twin trundle that slides out from underneath. When pulled out, it provides two individual twin beds—perfect for children or single travelers.
4) Additional Sleeping Options: To accommodate a group of eight, we provide a Queen-size air mattress that can be easily blown up and set up in the spacious living room. Alternatively, guests are welcome to sleep on the comfortable living room sectional sofa.
Guests will enjoy full, private access to the entire apartment. We offer a seamless self-check-in process, allowing you to arrive at your convenience and settle right in.
We want you to feel completely at home, so we provide you with full privacy during your stay. However, should you need anything. we are always just a message away!
Casa Heritage is located on Calle del Sol, one of the most picturesque and historically rich streets in Old San Juan. Step right outside your door to discover a vibrant neighborhood paved with iconic blue cobblestones and lined with pastel-colored colonial architecture. You are just a short, scenic stroll away from world-class dining, local cafes, boutique shopping, and historic landmarks like Castillo San Felipe del Morro. The area pulses with authentic Puerto Rican culture, offering the perfect mix of quiet, romantic corners and lively, vibrant energy.
Old San Juan is incredibly walkable, and the absolute best way to explore its charming, narrow streets is on foot. Most major historical sites, restaurants, and plazas are within a 5 to 15-minute walk from the apartment. If you wish to explore outside the historic district—such as visiting the beaches of Condado or heading to the airport—rideshares like Uber and local taxis are readily available, reliable, and highly recommended. As a reminder, if you choose to rent a car, street parking is extremely limited, so you will need to utilize nearby public parking garages (we highly recommend calling ahead to reserve a spot!).
Casa Heritage is a grandfathered, city-protected historic property remodeled in 2026, so you are literally sleeping in a piece of Old San Juan’s past. Because it dates back centuries, you may notice:
1) Historic Character: The original encaustic floor tiles have been preserved but retain gentle wear—that authentic patina is part of the home’s charm. You will also notice subtle imperfections like gently worn woodwork. These are not defects, but part of its authentic colonial character.
2) Quirky Charm & Step-Ups: Historic homes have unique, retrofitted layouts. Please note there is a single step up at the entrance to both the kitchen and the bathroom. Please mind your footing when transitioning between these rooms.
3) Lofts & Staircases: The two Queen beds are located in elevated loft ("Mesarí") areas accessed by two metal spiral staircases. Please use caution on each step, and be mindful to watch your head if walking directly underneath the staircases on the main floor. All loft-style areas are used at your own risk, and children must be closely supervised.
4) Ambient Sounds & Tropical Elements: Due to strict historical preservation limits, there is open-air section near the entrance ceiling. Because of this, you may experience a true tropical city atmosphere, including occasional passing bugs, natural humidity, and vibrant city sounds like distant church bells, festive parades, or street chatter. It’s all part of the lively spirit of Puerto Rico’s oldest neighborhood.
5) Preservation & Building Rules: To protect this historic property, smoking is strictly prohibited anywhere inside the unit, in common areas, or on the premises. Pets are not allowed. Please ensure all trash is disposed of in the designated municipal bins outside the building—no trash bags or debris may be left in the building's hallways or common areas. There is no accessible rooftop area for residents to use, and for safety reasons, access to the roof is strictly prohibited. However, guests are welcome to enjoy full access to the large Juliet-style balcony in their unit overlooking Sol Street.
6) Island Living & Energy: While our three AC units keep the apartment perfectly cool, we kindly ask that you turn off the AC units when leaving the apartment for the day or when enjoying the Caribbean breeze with the balcony doors fully open.
By choosing Casa Heritage, you accept and celebrate these historic quirks. They’re not flaws to fix, but features to cherish!
