About this place
A homely, quirky ground floor studio apartment in a secluded yet wonderfully central town centre location. Furnished with separate and comfortable living and sleeping areas, large bathroom and fully equipped kitchen. Strong WiFi & secure, gated riverside terrace with table & chairs. A few minutes walk from the train station and town centre, it is a perfect location to access the amenities of town and to explore the Peak District. Several car parks and street parking in close proximity.
The space
The homeliest of places, with classical yet eclectic décor, this studio apartment in a converted historic mill is a cosy retreat hidden down by the river and yet within a stone’s throw of all the amenities of the town.
Secure, gated terrace, accessed with a coded gate.
All areas of the flat and terrace are accessible with no step access.
There is a spacious living area, with comfortable sofa, chaise longue, coffee table and additional chairs. A sense of ‘shabby chic’ may describe the place well.
Within the main living space, there is an extendable George IV mahogany dining table, that will accommodate up to 6 people around.
The kitchen has all the required amenities: fridge- freezer, kettle, bean-to-cup coffee machine, microwave, cooking utensils, crockery, cutlery and a washer-drier (the latter is available on request).
The main living space is divided from the bedroom with a large bookcase, filled with a library of books, ornaments and plants.
The bedroom has a double bed with two bedside tables and a wardrobe, large television, with FreeSat, and internet access.
The bathroom is spacious with a vigorous shower, bath and heated towel rail.
There is a paved terrace overlooking the river, fringed with greenery and trees, with table and chairs outside the apartment. Beautiful sunshine to be had sitting out when the weather is fine!
There is on the street parking in two hour bays immediately outside the flat and adjacent streets (8am-6pm), which means you could leave the car there from 4pm until 10am the next morning on a normal day or all day on a Sunday. However if you want to leave the car longer, there are relatively cheap car parks (either Pickford street or Sunderland Street car park) about a minute’s walk away - across the road. If you wanted free and unrestricted parking, you could park up on Brook Street, which is a normal but unrestricted street (near to St Paul’s church/the Silk Trader pub). That is a 3 minutes walk away approx.
Guest access
The flat is accessed through a private, locked gate. This is opened with a code. The flat is the first one to be accessed after gaining entry through the outer gate.
Other things to note
Towels and linen are provided.
Shower gel, shampoo and conditional are also provided.
There is wifi access - please just see the box for details and QR code to access.
An iron and ironing board are in the property.
There is a travel cot in the apartment.
There are additional duvet, pillows and blankets.
Please let me know if you need anything specific and I will endeavour to provide this.
Pets are welcome but please request first.
