The space

Adventure and escape into the mountains with your very own private cabin retreat. Sightings of deer in the yard along with many birds, squirrels, and even turtles( please dont move turtles as they will not find their way home if moved). Cook amazing meals in the kitchen after a day of hiking, skiing, or exploring. The outside yard is fenced in with a fire pit and hammock. It is one of the very few homes, so it is making it safe for kids and dogs to play in the yard. Two decks with one being fully screened and rain-proofed(bottom deck). No flies or mosquitoes, surprisingly, in any of the decks that we have encountered thus far.

Enjoy the hundreds of trees in the yard or in the screened in porch during rainy days and make s'mores. Equipped with a smore machine for the little ones. Both levels have real fireplaces as well. The electricity goes out a ton in the area, but you should be covered with our generator to keep you going.

Enjoy reading or relaxing next to one of the fireplaces as there are 100's of books to choose from.

Why Travel to Basye?
There are so many fun things to do:
*Bryce Resort is one mile away where you can: ski, tube, ice skate, hike, enjoy Lake Laura (Paddleboats, kayaks, canoes), Mountain Bike, hike, or Golf. (Kayaks, bikes, golf clubs provided by us for a fee, or you may rent if you don't have any from the resort. We also have an ATV on our property(rental and available based on maintenance).
*Wineries nearby include: Cave Ridge Vineyard, The Winery at Kindred Point, Wolf Gap Vineyard, and Muse, just to name a few.
*Breweries nearby include: Swover Creek Brewery, Ridge Runner Farms, and Woodstock Brew House
*Shenandoah National Park is a great day trip as the entrance is less than an hour away where you can hike, bike, fish, or enjoy Skyline drive.
*Shenandoah Caverns is a short 20-minute drive, and Luray Caverns is about 45 minutes away.
*Visit Woodstock for: Woodstock Cafe, Muse Vineyards, Woodstock Brew House, and local shopping.
*Hiking at Big Schloss is just 30 minutes away
*Within 7 minutes of the house we have Freed's Biscuit which has amazing breakfast sandwiches, Smiley's Ice Cream, Mini Golf (next to Smiley's), The Copper Kettle Restaurant (at Bryce), and a local country store for anything you may have missed when picking up groceries on the way in.
*Must lookup Shrine Mont. Excellent hiking location. One path is 1.5 hours, extremely rocky, and steep climb, but the end view is out of a fairytale.

*Guests must be at least 28 years old to rent*
*No parties permitted*

Will provide a starter pack of toilet paper, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, body wash, dish detergent/dish soap, paper towels, trash bags, spices, condiments, and coffee, sugar for our guests. Guests staying less than 3 nights will get detergent for towels only. Recommend to bring your own brand of coffee and milk if you prefer a particular brand. Firewood will be included and ingredients to make s'mores such as ethanol fuel canisters for the s'mores machine will have one canister provided and you may bring more. Kernals and ingredients for the popcorn machine are sometimes available depending on use so would recommend that you bring some if intending to use.

Pets are welcome for an additional $100 fee per booking per pet. Maximum of 2 pets per reservation at $200 for both. Rate may be higher for longer stays after 5 nights. Please take off shoes inside the home. Dogs must be well-behaved and are not allowed on furniture. The mattresses are new, and so are the couches. We will charge an extra cleaning fee if pets are found to have been on furniture no exception as pet hair is extremelyhard to get off the sheets and bedding($100-200). We have an early check-in and late check-out fee ($35 per hour non holiday days). We also charge extra after 7 guests for each guest per night basis. If max capacity is violated, then we will be forced to evict.
Driveway holds 4 cars comfortably and could squeeze in a 5th if not all large vehicles. Please put all furniture back in its original place. We have $50 late checkout fee if we do not discuss late checkouts as our cleaners need time to be made aware and are very timely. Motion actived cameras outside home for safety of guests and hosts.

Lake Laura and the nearly 4 mile hike around the beautiful lake.

Resort activities are not included and would need to become members for certain activities or pay fees to attend. More details on the Bryce Resort website of prices and activities.

Other things to note
*Have a s'mores maker, which kids and adults alike will have tons of fun roasting. One canister provided, recommend more to get more plus all s'mores ingredients.

*Please keep drinks off the pool table and rack up the balls and sticks when leaving the property.

*Sauna has to be plugged in and turned on about 30-45 minutes prior to getting in as it heats up slower due to being a healthier and safer infrared sauna. Please unplug when not in use and leaving premises.

*Keep grill grates clean, or we will impose a $25 cleaning fee. We will provide the propane, and guests may bring charcoal or woodburning flavoreeld chips for Large Egg grill. Charbroil electric smoker needs water added inside and wood chips. Turn on the timer and set the temperature.

*Please put back bicycles (2), golf clubs(3), and kayaks (2) paddle board back in its proper storage. This includes any helmets, paddles, or other accessories. Renters are liable for any damage or loss of equipment. The storage room is being video monitored, and there is a sign posted saying so.

*Please pick up ashes from the fireplaces or firepit if using them, as we will impose a $25 fee. Please close the latch inside the fireplace if used.

*Please put back all board games in their proper box and return books onto Bookshelf if used.

*TV is smart and is Alexa equipped. there is also an Alexa speaker next to the TV that you can speak into as well. TV comes with I LG TV preprogrammed 350+ channels. we usually have our Netflix and HBOMax accounts signed on, and anyone may use or sign into yours.

*Trash compactor in kitchen works. Just have to turn to "ON" and wait 60 seconds. Please bag all trash( or it won't be picked up) and place inside the 2 trash containers outside prior to checkout. Trash must be bagged. I use one trash bag for 3 days' worth of trash with the compactor.

*We have a full sized Nostalgia popcorn maker with instructions in the basement. Would suggest picking up some Kernels if you are planning to use the machine along with toppings and oils. Vintage Professional Popcorn Cart - NEW 8-Ounce Kettle - 53 Inches Tall

*Big Buck World® Arcade Machine rated 12+ for kids and same with other arcade.

*Still figuring out mechanics of the Japanse antique slot machine. Some coins are provided, and it takes quarters. The best way to turn on and off is by pulling the plug. We unfortunately only have one key and can not provide the original.

*The bar unfortunately does not have any plumbing hooked up. The mini fridge does work, and the bar may be used.

*The small cold Plunge Tub is not filled and maintained, guest may fill up and use it at their discretion.

*Guests and non-members have to pay to use certain resort amenities.
