How to Connect Host Tools to Houfy

Who this is for

• Hosts and property managers who use Host Tools
• Houfy members who want their Host Tools listings and calendars to sync with Houfy

Before you start

1. Make sure you have a Host Tools account.
2. Set up at least one listing in Host Tools.
3. Make sure you can log in to your Houfy account.
4. Have your Stripe, Square, or other payment method details ready, so guests can book and pay.

Steps

1. Log in to Host Tools
   Open your browser and go to the Host Tools website.
   Log in to your Host Tools account.
   Check that at least one property is set up and active.
2. Log in to Houfy
   Open a new tab in your browser.
   Go to houfy.com.
   Click Log in and sign in to your Houfy account.
3. Go to Software Partners in Houfy
   At the top, click Manage Listings.
   In the side menu, click Software Partners.
4. Copy your Houfy connection token
   Find Host Tools in the list of partners.
   Click Copy token.
   This copies a special connection code to your clipboard.
5. Open the Integrations page in Host Tools
   Go back to your Host Tools tab.
   In Host Tools, go to the Integrations or Connected apps section.
   Look for Houfy in the list.
6. Paste your Houfy token into Host Tools
   Click on Houfy in Host Tools.
   Click into the field that asks for your Houfy token or API key.
   Right-click and choose Paste, or press Ctrl + V (Windows) or Command + V (Mac).
   Click Save or Connect.
7. Return to houfy. You will now see host tools at the top of your Software Partners page listed as a conected integration.
8. Choose how to sync your listings. You will see a manage button on your listing, click it. You will see two options:
1. Import new listings
   Use this if your listings are already set up in Host Tools, but not yet on Houfy.
   Host Tools will create new listings in Houfy for you.
2. Map existing listings
   Use this if your properties already exist on Houfy.
   You will need to match each Houfy listing to the same property in Host Tools.
3. Select either Import new listings or Map existing listings.
   Follow the on-screen steps to complete the import or mapping.
9. Wait for your first calendar sync
   Once connected, Host Tools will begin syncing your calendar availability to Houfy.
   This helps prevent double bookings by keeping your Houfy calendar up to date.
   The first sync may take a short time. Check your Houfy calendar after a little while to confirm.
10. Enable payments on Houfy
    In Houfy, click Manage Listings.
    Select the listing you connected.
    Go to Connected payments (or Payments).
    Click Connect payment method.
    Follow the steps to connect your Stripe, Square, or other supported payment method.
    Repeat for other listings, if needed.
11. Test your connected listing
12. Open your listing on Houfy as if you were a guest.
13. Make sure the calendar looks correct.
14. Click through the booking process (you do not have to complete payment) to confirm it works.

Troubleshooting

• I don’t see Host Tools in Software Partners
  Make sure you are logged into the correct Houfy account.
  Check under Manage Listings → Software Partners.
  If you still do not see it, contact Houfy Support.
• My calendar is not updating on Houfy
  Wait a little while. The first sync can take some time.
  Refresh your browser page.
  Check that the listing is still connected in both Host Tools and Houfy.
  If it still does not update, disconnect and reconnect Host Tools using the steps above. If the issue prevails reach out to info@houfy.com
• I clicked “Mark as Confirmed” by mistake
  “Mark as Confirmed” is for bookings where you handled payment outside of Houfy.
  If you clicked this by mistake, click send a payment link, and contact your guest if needed.

FAQs

Can I import my listings from Host Tools to Houfy?
Yes. Choose Import new listings when you connect to create new listings on Houfy from Host Tools.

Can I connect listings that already exist on Houfy?
Yes. Choose Map existing listings and match each Houfy listing to the same property in Host Tools.

Do guests pay Houfy or me?
Guests pay you directly through your connected payment processor (for example, Stripe or Square) or your own off-platform method. Houfy does not handle your rental funds.
