Facebook is pulling in an old picture on my Houfy post/listing

Every once in a while you may post a Houfy post, Houfy listing, a blog post, etc. on facebook, and it doesn't pull in your most recent featured pic. This is unrelated to Houfy, it's a facebook issue.

Facebook caches the picture it pulled the first time it saw your link, so changing the photo on your Houfy post or listing does not change what Facebook shows until Facebook scrapes the page again.

Before you use the debugger, check the new photo is actually saved on the Houfy side - open your post or listing in a private browser window and look at the image there. If Houfy is still showing the old one, the debugger has nothing new to pick up.

To force Facebook to refresh it:

  1. Copy the address of your Houfy post or listing.

  2. Open the Facebook Sharing Debugger at developers.facebook.com/tools/debug and sign in with your Facebook account.

  3. Paste the address into the box and click Debug.

  4. Click Scrape Again. The preview shown afterwards is what Facebook now has on file for that link.
