San Francisco vacation rentals

This is a beautiful, quiet home to base yourself in while staying in East Bay. The home is comfortably & beautifully furnished. The centerpiece is a top-of-the line gourmet kitchen which our family of cooks thoroughly enjoyed using. It is well situated in the beach town of Alameda and a 10 to 15 minute walk to the Webster Street business corridor of restaurants and independent shops. It was delightful to drop off our relatives at the Oakland Airport while taking an easy 15 minute drive on surface streets to get there. No freeway driving during rush hour! Amazing! Communication with Lalit via text was easy. He was gracious and prompt in in all our dealings. A wonderful stay. A wonderful host. We will be back!

This place is one of the nicest Airbnbs I have stayed in, well named an Oasis! Bedroom had super comfortable high quality bed and large TV wall mounted conveniently for viewing, with sliding glass doors to deck and brick path direct to hot tub which I enjoyed and is a great bonus. Well appointed kitchen, loved the shiny convection toaster oven and pour-over coffee set up (bring your own ground coffee). It is much as pictured. Modern sofa and small round table in LR serves for eating and working. There is an additional nice seating area outside (with fire pit which I did not use). Very nice bathroom and shower. Sliding glass doors run the full length of the living room and bedroom front walls letting in lovely light, but also have good heavy curtains you can draw for privacy. I was there during colder weather and the heat worked well, though I was glad for a sweater given all the glass. Parking is easy on the street out front, never had trouble finding a spot. Beautiful safe neighborhood for walking, near College Ave. shops too. Hosts responded quickly via text. I will be back!

The communication with Albena was great for the entire time. The house is located in a residential area with a school, playground and athletic field across the street. It is about 30 minutes into San Francisco. There are many shops close by for shopping, groceries, eateries, and gas. The apartment is very clean with updated amenities and fully furnished. There is a variety of options for TV shows and music. The kitchen has a coffee maker with complimentary coffee, toaster and microwave. There is plenty of natural light and good lighting throughout. There was plenty of hot water and good shower pressure. There was ample complimentary high end toiletries in the shower. The bedroom does not have a black out shade. Also there is no air conditioning or ceiling fans. We opened the 5 windows which have screens but there was very little breeze because of the close proximity to the adjacent houses. It happened that the 1st week of August had a heat wave and it was a bit uncomfortable inside without any fans. I would stay again!

Update: In light of the vindictive, reactionary review that the owner of this space left us in response to our calling out minor issues that we felt could be addressed, we can no longer recommend that anyone rent this space...not because of the space, but because of the owner's poor reaction to valid feedback. The original review remains unedited below. -- This place is an enigma. There are a lot of positives to be had, for sure, and at the same time, it is missing some of the basic things that would really make it a top-level AirBNB space. We found this place only because of the current craziness going on in SF ($3000/mo for 1-bedroom walkups - no thanks) and we are glad we did. And there are some things in here - like the 60" flat-panel TV and the rainwater shower - that make it a really swell place to hang out. However, there are some other things that leave the experience flat. The internet is only fair - they use a repeater from the main house instead of a separate hard-wired WAP - okay for most applications, not so great when you're trying to work. The kitchen is missing some basic utensils such as spatulas and a toaster (while, interestingly enough, it has a crazy oven and microwave that we never fully figured out how to use (though we cooked many a meal in them). It's small. It's fairly dark most of the time, being a basement apartment. We would have liked to have a bit more separation from the bedroom and living room. It's also not very close to anything - you will be walking at least 10 minutes to anything. Still, none of this would keep us from coming back, as it is a great space to spend a bit of time in, especially if you have a car.

This is a sweet little apartment, great for 1-2 people. We were in town to visit with family and choose this because it was in walking distance to their home. We will definitely stay here again. Very clean, well stocked with nice extras, such as a K coffee machine, creamer, and extra toiletries if you’ve forgotten anything. Wonderful view of downtown from the front landing and window. Nice roomy closet and a very easy to use space heater. Russ was a very helpful landlord, giving us some tips on the bit tricky remote control for the TV. There were a series of stairs leading up to the front door. We managed alright with two suitcases and backpacks. Overall a five star stay.

The Lily Pad is amazing, living there for a few months was peaceful and really a whole new world. The big windows help the place get natural light and opening the windows you can hear the water from the coy pond. When I have long day at work, I would sit in the hammock, read a book and have a glass of wine, it was so relaxing. Now that it's getting colder, you can enjoy the heated floors and the comfy space Albena and Nicoli created. They were wonderful host. Always quick to respond to messages, always there to help with anything you need and did it in such a caring way. I looked forward to seeing them when they came to feed the fish and care for their home. I will miss them greatly and look forward to seeing them again soon. Thank you so much for making me feel like I am home.

Laura's place is an absolute gem. My friends and I were in town to visit some friends in the Oakland area and her place served perfectly as a quiet, safe, and comfortable getaway from our activities. The house is amply stocked with brand new (or very clean) items and appliances. Everything from the dish sponge to the fridge, and every surface (especially the bathroom) was sparkling clean and arranged thoughtfully. The place was well illuminated and much more spacious than I imagined. Laura's kitchen was stocked with various ingredients for cooking when we needed to, and there are plenty of other amenities like washer/dryer that better accommodate longer stays. Having lived in the area, I was a bit concerned about its location in Richmond, but the neighborhood was residential and safe. Though the highway is easily accessible, we had no issues of noise or concerns about safety throughout our stay there. Its location, value, and cleanliness were ideal for our situation, and I would not hesitate to book again for a future visit. Laura is very accommodating, quick to respond, and a great hostess. Thank you Laura, and I highly recommend her place to anyone else that may be browsing this area.

If you’re looking for a private, peaceful and modern luxe spot in Berkeley, this is it! Albena and Nickolay are extraordinary hosts and their hospitality is unparalleled. The space is clean and new, has everything you need for cooking a large meal with family, and boasts a gorgeous patio for casual drinks and dinner outdoors. The office/desk space was incredibly helpful, and the rain showers and Toto toilets were a really nice touch! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and look forward to staying at a property of theirs again soon.
