My wife and I had looked at several venues for our small wedding before coming across this gem. Once we toured the house and back yard we knew immediately that this was the place. Platt was really responsive to our requests and one time even walked me though how to reset the router in the basement when it had tripped during our stay. He always answered his phone or called right back. The location is fantastic, the yard was absolutely perfect, and the house itself speaks for itself. Absolutely beautiful place and we will definitely be coming back. Everyone that came to our wedding has said repeatedly that it was the best wedding they had EVER been to. He works very closely with big sky tent rental company, they will assemble a beautiful tent including lights, dance floor, electrical for DJ, separate tent for catering and break it down afterwards. We used kitchen porch catering and we were blown away with Jan and her entire team. All together it turned out to be way more amazing than we could have ever planned, I highly recommend renting this house from Platt. We had 20 people staying in the house and there was more than enough room. Bicycles in the shed, huge propane grill, surround sound in the entire house, parking is a bit of an issue but there is no need for a car on MV. We brought over 1 car, rented another on the island, and also rented two scooters for the week for people to take as they please. There are some very old and nice pieces of furniture, paintings, glasses, plates in the house so it's really not suitable for children but we had 4 young ones (under 10) with us and we just gave them firm instructions on rough housing and taking it outside instead, etc.. We will be back, we're trying to get a group of our friends together to make it an annual thing, i highly recommend this beautiful historic house.

My family thoroughly enjoyed a wonderfully relaxing and fun-filled vacation in Wendy’s beautifully renovated and well-appointed home! We instantly felt at home due to Wendy’s attention to detail and perpetual kindness throughout our stay. She not only responded very quickly to any questions we had, but she also went the extra mile to anticipate our needs and sprinkled some delightfully appreciated surprises during our stay. The home is very clean, beautifully decorated, centrally located on the island- which provides easy access to all towns on MV, and a very short drive to the airport. The back yard is well planned and creates a welcoming cocoon area melding pool, hot tub, deck area with cozy seating area, table, & bbq area. The easy access to a trail and a beautiful golf course was greatly enjoyed by our family members! As a fellow gardener, I very much enjoyed Wendy’s beautiful garden areas as well! Thank you for a wonderful vacation, Wendy! Your kindness and thoughtfulness throughout our stay made us feel very much at home and as if we were staying with family rather than an Airbnb! Five stars! Highly recommend!

We had a fabulous time! The home is exactly as described, but even better!! We loved how private it was, with a large backyard and an outdoor sitting area where we had our breakfast and in the evenings, sat around and relaxed. Even though the house only has two bathrooms, there is an outdoor shower with warm water that the men in our party loved - I don't think either of them took a shower indoors😊 The inside of the home is naturally beautiful with wooden beams and lots of windows. We felt right at home - it was very comfortable and cozy..... It's about a 15 minute drive to get to Lambert's Cove beach. We recommend getting a beach (parking) pass vs walking pass so you can lug all the beach gear - while parking is limited, if you get there before noon, it's really not a problem. We highly recommend staying here and look forward to our next visit.

This is a fantastic place to stay! Our first visit to Martha’s Vineyard was very pleasant, staying at Laura’s place with our two young children. The ferry ports are within easy reach, as are three towns - Vineyard Haven, Oak Bluffs and Edgartown. Everything you might need to shop for can be found within a few miles Vineyard Haven where there are nice eateries and a good supermarket. Laura is super attentive, the cottage is equipped with all you could possibly need. We were especially impressed with the provision of beach towels, deck chairs and a parasol for the beach. Lamberts Cove (which is a residents only access beach) is a must see (a special pass is required and easily purchased after booking). Thanks so much for your kind hospitality Laura! Very best wishes.

Primo location! We could Just sit in our porch and watch the park and ocean for hours. A short walk to downtown and a grocery store. The towels and beach chairs provided were a nice touch as well. It was hot weather during our stay so the AC in the old house had some trouble keeping but this is likely the case with any of these adorable old rentals on MV. Highly recommend staying here.
