Girdwood, Alaska has a few standard stops you really don't want to miss. One of the most well known is The Bake Shop and it's just a short walk across the parking lot from our Alyeska North Ski Condo. Winter or summer it's the place to go for breakfast and lunch. It's worth the wait year round for fresh homemade sourdough bread, a classic sweet roll, or soup & a bun. In the summer they have pizza's & ice cream till 6 or 7 p.m. If you have already experienced The Bake Shop you might be both surprised and happy to find out they take credit cards and the staff is remarkably friendly now that the new owners have taken over. They have a bit of a learning curve to keep up with the amazing summer garden established by the previous owners over 40 plus years, but they have food service & quality down pat. The Girdwood Center for Visual Arts gallery is next door and La Bodega is just few doors down.
