❇️THE NEIGHBORHOOD❇️
This Savannah vacation rental is located in Savannah's Victorian District, directly across from Forsyth Park — one of the South's most beloved public green spaces. You are steps from the iconic Forsyth Park Fountain and within easy walking distance of Savannah's top restaurants, shops, historic squares, and cultural landmarks.
The Victorian District is known for its canopy of towering live oaks, beautifully preserved historic architecture, and a neighborhood feel that is less touristy than the River Street corridor while remaining completely walkable to everything downtown Savannah has to offer.
Walking is truly the best way to experience the beauty of Savannah. And when you're ready to venture further, the complimentary DOT Trolley picks up just 2 blocks north of The Abilene and loops through downtown. Uber, Lyft, Mokies, and horse-drawn carriages are all easy options too.
The complimentary DOT Trolley stops just two blocks from The Abilene, providing easy access to the rest of downtown Savannah.
❇️ AN AUTHENTIC SAVANNAH EXPERIENCE ❇️
One of the things guests love most about The Abilene is its premier location directly overlooking Forsyth Park. Being in the heart of one of America's most walkable historic cities means you'll experience Savannah the way locals do — morning joggers, evening strolls beneath centuries-old live oaks, and the gentle rhythm of a neighborhood people genuinely love to be in.
The Abilene sits on Drayton Street, one of Savannah's main corridors, directly across from Forsyth Park. As with any stay in a vibrant historic city, you'll hear the sounds of the neighborhood: street traffic, park activity, and pedestrian life throughout the day. Sound machines are provided in every bedroom for added comfort and relaxation.
As a lovingly restored Victorian home in Savannah's subtropical climate, you may occasionally encounter local insects during warmer months, despite regular professional pest treatments and meticulous maintenance. It's simply part of life in the beautiful Lowcountry and something worth keeping in mind when choosing your travel season.
❇️ PLEASE NOTE ❇️
The City of Savannah is currently refurbishing the tennis courts directly across the street, so guests may notice some daytime construction activity during their stay. Construction is expected to be complete by Labor Day.

Located in the iconic Victorian District, you are directly across from Forsyth Park and steps from the park fountain. Walk to multiple restaurants for dinner or pick up the free Dot shuttle just 2 blocks away.
The area is famous for its towering oaks, historic architecture, and a local feel that is less 'touristy' than the River Street corridor while remaining walkable to everything.
Walking is truly the best way to see the beauty of Savannah. However, there are multiple ways to get around town be it via an Uber/Lyft, a Mokie or opt to take the City's free trolley, The Dot. The Dot picks up 2 blocks north of The Abilene and does a loop around town.
The Abilene is a typical Savannah historic home built in 1891. Its soaring 11-foot ceilings are one of its most distinctive features, and they also mean the staircase to the second floor is steeper than in a modern home. Please keep this in mind if anyone in your party may have difficulty with stairs.
Bedroom location note: The main floor bedroom is closest to Drayton Street. Guests in this room may hear some street noise and pedestrian activity and we provide sound machines for added comfort.
Security cameras are located at the front and back doors for security purposes. They record the entry doors and stairs only — no audio is recorded anywhere on the property.
