Those DMD Summer Sunsets! We care about the ocean + love sharing it with our guests! Each visit, we’re pleased to donate a % to nonprofits protecting our oceans (Oceana) + housing young girls (The Agape House).
The kitchen is equipped with anything you’d need to cook a delicious meal.
There is both more formal and informal platware for 8, an espresso machine, French Press, drip coffee maker, and filtered water in the kitchen.
Upon your arrival you’ll be greeted with tea as well as coffee beans that are locally sourced, locally sold and support children fighting cancer.
You’ll find the record wall we’ve carefully sourced includes all Seattle artists for your enjoyment during your stay. There are a few more non-Seattle records located in a record holder near the fireplace also for use during your stay.

The spa-like bathroom is equipped with an LED anti-fog mirror, towels, face cloths, hand cloths, hair dryer, flat iron, moisturizing anti-bacterial hand soap, bath/shower and window with a view of the Puget Sound (with a shade for privacy).
The living room is equipped with an electric fireplace, an oversized sectional over an oversized wool rug, 65” smart tv and throw blankets.

The bar cart holds a ice bucket, wine glasses, champagne glasses, martini glasses, home bartender kit and a mixology booklet.
Daybed Room is perfect place for spending an afternoon reading or for a restful nights sleep. It’s equipped with a pull out king bed, blackout drapes for privacy, a smart tv, a small rack for hanging clothes, 4 drawers + a killer corner window view.
The bluetooth stereo and usb charging ports offer options whether you decide to relax for the evening or use the area as a space to sleep.
Each sleeping space has an iconic B&W beach art, usb ports for easy charging,, drawers, a hanging rod or closet, plush terry robes, a fan/space heater just for extra customizable comfort + breathable sheets. Daybed room also has smart TV + BT speaker
Bedroom #1. This room looks out a lush forested view and has a Full size memory foam bed, dresser, 2 clothes hanging options, and USB charging ports in both nightstands.
Our Eagle’s Nest 3rd Room/Office is outfitted with a breathtaking view that encompasses almost an entire wall of the room, a full size memory foam bed, and 4 usb bedside charging ports.
Every room at The Des Moines Diamond has two plush terry cloth robes in it—perfect for use after the hot tub or simply lounging after a bath.
Full sized bed, two fold down nightstands, two usb charging ports, two bedside lamps and a knockout view are what you can expect from your stay in this intimate space.
The wood walls in the house are beautifully original—placed by a man who built the house for his family in the 1950s. We’ve left the walls largely untouched to honor this special history.
Work with a view: Check The master bedroom desk has ample space to spread out and work (or get ready for the day) in the most refreshing surroundings. Equipped with an ergonomic wood chair,desk lamp and mirror.
Two Fire Pits to enjoy your evenings!
In storage annex (attached and accessed via yard) are 8 yoga mats, safety ring, life jackets, cornhole, and fishing poles. The hybrid SUP/KAYAKs are available with life jacket use and signed waiver when ocean conditions tend to be best (May-Oct).
There is an extra refrigerador/freezer, Washer, Dryer and laundry pods for your use in the attached annex accessible via the yard (about a 3 second walk from front patio).
The backyard overlooking the Sound includes a covered patio, comfortable outdoor sectional with gas firepit, firepit table with seats for 8, electric outdoor heaters, an inflatable hot tub, magical strung bistro lights and yard games.
There’s no bad seat at sunset at the DMD. ;) Whether you’re facing the window or the water, you’ll be able to take in awe-striking views.

Wrap yourself in one of the plush terry robes and take a dip in your private hot tub nook under the magical bistro lights overlooking the ocean. Please note because of the PNW climate, Oct-June, hot tub may be slow to heat.

Seals, eagles and even whales mingle with huge ocean liners and pop up to say hello nearly daily within yards of the house. If they’re a little farther out, there are binoculars for you use readily available.

We called the property The Des Moines Diamond both because it is a hideaway where you will transported away and because of the beautiful way the water frequently sparkles like it is filled with diamonds when the sun hits it.
One of the services we are pleased to offer to our guests during their stay is the ability to book massages (with a view!) offered through our partner licensed masseuses. Come completely relax and unwind.
The property at twilight (and all times :)) is pretty magical.

House is exclusively accessed by beautiful almost entirely bistro lit stairs. Steps down to your stay are well banked, 1/2 shared by neighborhood, and take about 1-4 min to walk (depending on individual pace and comfort. 2.5 min seems to be average).
Heron land and cool off in the water at all times of day and soar off at night. In fact, all around the property, you’ll see ducks, heron, bald eagles, hawks, Canadian Geese, seagulls and all types of beautiful birds.
You’ll be greeted often by seals and sea lions from your spot on the patio and may come face to face with one while kayaking or SUPing.
Orcas, humpbacks and grey whales at times can be seen from the DMD property. (Orcas: Oct-Dec, Humpacks: Oct-July, Grey Whales: Marcha-April)
At all times of day, catch the family of eagles that calls the tree adjacent to the property their home and you their neighbors.
When the tide is out, guests can enjoy collecting clams.
Nothing like being out on the water with our hybrid SUP/Kayaks (available with life jacket and a signed waived between May-Sept).

The Des Moines Marina boat mooring is about a 10 min walk from the property and accepts guests moorage reservations if you’d like to bring your boat to enjoy during your stay.
One of our guests favorite spots is a bar that plays live music with a view of the Sound (only 5-10 min walk from the house).
Boasting dozens of doughnut varieties, Mini is a desert lovers dream and is only 2 min drive or short walk from the house.
Anthony’s: An Iconic Seattle area restaurant at its best…with an amazing view from both inside and outside of it.
The cutest little local coffee shop that serves delicious coffee and baked goods. 2 min drive from the home.
Enjoy a long stroll along the pier with panaromic views of Mt Ranier, Vashon, Des Moines Beach Park, Olympic Moutains and the Puget Sound. 2 min walk during low tide and 10 min walk during high tide.
Every Saturday, from May-end of Sept, you can enjoy the Des Moines Farmer’s Market a quick blissful oceanside stroll from the house.
Via Marina makes a great wood fired pizza and if you’re looking for something faster/pick up, Pizza Addict has incredible wood fired pizza too.
Des Moines Beach Park has some wonderful wooded trails to explore (Des Moines Creek Trail) all only a couple minutes from the home.
On Thursday and Sunday evenings (until 7 pm) in the summer and early fall, the Des Moines Marina next door to our property brings food trucks offering delicious cuisine of all types for “Trucks and Tunes.”
One of the perks of staying at DMD is that it is only 10 minutes from SeaTac International Airport for seamless access and travel experience (but you will never hear any of the aircraft noise because of where the property is positioned).
Seattle is only about 20 minutes away where you can see Seattle’s famous Pike Place Market with lots of small local business, beautiful locally grown flowers and the “flying fish show.”
While staying at DMD, guests can easily take a short drive into Seattle to see iconic spots like the Space Needle and tale the wheel.
Come see your favorite Seattle team play, explore the city, relax at home—all athletic stadiums are only 15-20 minutes from DMD.
The ferries to Bainbridge Island and Bremerton for a quick day trip or even Victoria BC for a bit longer one are only 20 minutes from the property!
