The interesting hinterland, a varied coastline with towns worth seeing such as Rovinj (approx. 40 km) and Porec (approx. 50 km) on the west coast, the Brion Islands and the well-known excursion destinations of the Kvarner Bay of Cres/Losinj and Krk offer a variety of possibilities for day trips. --Fazana-- Fazana, 8 km north-west of Pula, is a lively little fishing and bathing resort with a beautiful beach. We recommend a boat trip to the offshore Brijuni Islands (national park). The traditional anchovy festival takes place at the beginning of August. Good shopping facilities and restaurants in the village. Valbandon lies 2 km south of Fazana. The long, gently sloping pebble beach is particularly suitable for children. From Valbandon to Fazana there is a beautiful beach promenade for cycling or walking. The town is known for its large selection of restaurants.
