Blair Lake House - Wautoma

Ski and tube at Nordic Mountain, only 3 minutes away! This 3200 sq. ft. newly renovated, spacious (4BR 3 Bath), modern Scandinavian lake house on the fully recreational Mt Morris Chain of Lakes is perfect for a family getaway, and spacious enough for 2 families with multiple generations to enjoy. Ski and ice fish in the winter & boat with kayaks, SUPs and water trampoline included in the summer. Only 2 hours from Milwaukee and 3.5 hours from Chicago- this is your up north retreat!

The Space:

This is a great space for extended and/ or multiple families to enjoy, groups of friends, or a few couples!

Sip your coffee as you enjoy the breathtaking views from the kitchen of the sun rising over Mt. Morris Lake. The stylish and newly renovated open floor plan kitchen, dining and living area is on the main floor of the house. The dining table seats 10 and the kitchen island seats 4. The expansive kitchen with gorgeous views of the lake is fully renovated with all new appliances and everything you need for making family meals. The open living area has a wood burning fireplace with a large, flat screen Smart TV and high speed WIFI. Included on the main floor are 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The spacious primary bedroom with breathtaking views of the lake has plenty of room for a pack-n-play (included), or space to spread out and practice yoga. Working from home? There is a dedicated work space with a desk overlooking the lake in the primary bedroom as well as an attached bathroom.

Downstairs is the walkout lower level with more large windows with beautiful views of the lake. The walkout lower level has a bathroom, laundry room, bunk room with 6 twin beds, game room and another living area. Rainy day? Stay downstairs and hang out in the game room with a TV and sectional couch. The game room includes a pool table, ping pong table, and plenty of board games.

The house is in close proximity to the neighbors, with whom the driveway is shared, and is limited to 4 maximum parking spaces. On the lakeside of the house there is the firepit and yard for hanging out, but the driveway is not to be used for playing/ hanging out.

During the winter, enjoy ice fishing on Mt Morris Lake by setting your tips right outside the house and then watching from the hot tub (available Labor Day through Memorial Day), or from windows in the house to see if you catch anything! Come summer, relax outside near the fire pit and picnic table, swim in the lake, fish off the dock, kayak/SUP around the lake (5 miles of shoreline), or rent/bring a motor boat to waterski and tube! There is an outdoor deck overlooking the lake where the grill sits, which is located off the kitchen/dining area. The patio table seats 8, includes an umbrella and there is comfortable outdoor patio furniture as well. The house is great for families, but it is not suitable for gatherings of more than 12 people or loud noises at night.

Ski and tube at Nordic Mountain, icefish on the lake, walk to the organic farm at the end of the street (1/8th mile) and grab all the fruits, veggies and fresh eggs that you need, or pick your own raspberries and strawberries during their summer season as well. Lake Morris is in a rural area, but the Trading Post Bar/Restaurant and Mt. Morris Mill Coffee Shop is well within walking distance of the house too, in the sleepy and rural town of Mt Morris. Otherwise, it’s a 12 minute drive to Wautoma for restaurants (supper clubs!!), golf courses, shops, grocery stores, gas stations, etc.

Lake Morris

The house sits on a the largest of the 5 connected chain of lakes which spans 5 miles. You can have a wake with a motor boat between 10am-5pm daily in our lake. Towards the end of the summer season, cut weeds will float in front of the house. We have a swim barrier that keeps the weeds from floating into the shore, but they will float close to the dock, making it tough to swim right off the dock. When this happens, our kids prefer to take the Stand Up Paddle Boards out to the water trampoline, or out to the middle of the lake during the no wake time to swim where there aren't weeds. Young kids often prefer to swim at the sandy and weed free public beach across from our house that is a 2 minute car ride away, or an easy kayak/SUP/boat ride across the lake. If you bring/rent a boat, another great swimming area is in Emerald Lake, which is a 3 minute boat from the house.

Nordic Mountain is 3 minutes away from the lake house with mountain biking trails in the summer and downhill skiing, tubing, snowboarding and cross country skiing trails in the winter. Many hiking trails are nearby as well. Drive 30 minutes to The Chain of Lakes in Waupaca or to Green Lake in Princeton. Drive 1 hour to the Wisconsin Dells for a fun day trip, or trailer your boat to the many inland lakes around the area.

Guest Access:

The house shares a driveway with the neighboring house. There are 4 total parking spaces on the driveway. You can store your bikes in the garage if you need to. The hot tub at the Blair Lake House will be shut off for the summer months and won't be available after Memorial Day until Labor Day.

Boat Rentals:

Motor boat is not included, but you have rent pontoon boats and these places will deliver to our pier:
