Aquamare - Mahoe Bay - Virgin Gorda

Use of local stonework, rich hardwoods, travertine marble and 30-foot vaulted ceilings surrounded by lush landscape are hallmark features of Aquamare. Each villa is designed with a private waterfront infinity pool with unobstructed views of the Drake Channel, gourmet kitchen and inside and outside dining areas for group gatherings. With three elegant master suites, one double room and one studio, each villa accommodates up to 12 guests or family members in its own 8,000 sq.ft open air living space.

Aquamare is a secluded enclave comprised of three 8,000 square-foot, five-bedroom villas, each situated on a different elevation and surrounded by lush landscaping for maximum privacy, yet angled to maximize views of the breathtaking Sir Francis Drake Channel. A separate Concierge House is located on the property to provide attentive guest services at every turn. Guests have the rare option of renting more than one villa, or even all three, to accommodate large gatherings of up to 36 people in one private enclave. Aquamare’s private Beach Park is the ideal setting for destination weddings and small meetings.

Villa Aquamare offers an on-site concierge to coordinate all services necessary to make your stay a most enjoyable one. From coordinating boat excursions along Sir Francis Drake channel to a sunset brunch, or coordinating in-villa services providing you full support when you need it.

All five-bedrooms villas feature comfortable spacious areas and ample balconies with spectacular oceanviews. But a distinguishing feature of the Aquamare experience is located in each of the spa suites: open, yet completely sheltered marbel bath areas with separate outdoor shower rooms.

Aquamare is located on the scenic western coast of Virgin Gorda at Mahoe Bay at the scenic Drake Channel. The island has been called the “jewel of the Caribbean” by leading travel magazines for its sophistication, pristine beaches and privacy. Conde Nast Traveler ranked it the best island in the Caribbean, Bermuda, and the Bahamas in its 2007 World’s Best Awards. As part of the British Virgin Island archipelago, a valid passport is required for entry into the Island. Travelling by AirTravel through a 40 minutes private charter from San Juan is the most convenient way to get to the Island. Non-top flights to San Juan are available from the main US hubs including Los Angeles, Dallas, Houston, Chicago, New York, Boston and Philadelphia. Travel from St.Thomas is also available through commercial flights. Travel from Tortola is a 15 minute boat ride from the airport pier to Virgin Gorda Yacht Harbor. Tortola’s runway allows for private jet landings. Charters and water taxis are coordinated by Aquamare’s Concierge.

Aquamare is naturally the ideal setting for a destination wedding. Weddings are planned around the concept of taking over all three villas, providing multiple venues and an expansive total of 24,000 square feet of living space. This advantage gives our guests maximum flexibility in planning and organizing their wedding events.

Planning a wedding at Aquamare couldn't be easier. Many brides elect to have a simple, barefoot ceremony on the beach for a handful of guests at sunset, overlooking the Caribbean. Others may plan a more elaborate affair, such as an elegant seated dinner for up to 60 people.

A Beach Park for Newlyweds

Aquamare features a white coral sand beach park area located in front of the Villas. The private beach park looks out to Tortola and the smaller islands in the BVI's and is ideal for ceremonies and After Parties in the sand following the reception. Slightly raised for better water views, and set back from the shoreline, the beach park is ideal for barefoot weddings, for vows in the sand, and for lazy, sun-splashed gatherings before and after the big day. It's a prime location for a sunset cocktail party. The area has lounge chairs and is constantly attended by Aquamare staff. It also features Aquamare's signature "Dream Bed" a king-size daybed suspended over the sand.
