Located in the quiet beachfront community of Gilchrist on the Bolivar Peninsula, this coastal getaway offers peaceful beaches, incredible Gulf views, and a relaxed small-town atmosphere. Enjoy direct beach access, fishing, shell hunting, bonfires, and stunning sunrises just steps from the sand. Perfect for families, anglers, and anyone looking to escape the crowds and experience authentic Texas beach living.
Most guests get around the Gilchrist and Bolivar Peninsula area by car, truck, or golf cart. Highway 87 runs along the peninsula and connects the small beach communities, making it easy to drive between restaurants, fishing spots, beach access points, and local stores. Many visitors also drive directly on the beach, which is one of the area’s most popular features.
Golf carts are common for short trips around the beach neighborhoods, especially for sunset rides or quick trips to the sand. Fishing enthusiasts often bring boats or kayaks, with nearby launches and bayside access available throughout the peninsula.
For guests wanting to explore beyond the area, the free Bolivar-Galveston Ferry provides easy access to Galveston for restaurants, shopping, and attractions, while still allowing visitors to return to the quieter beachfront setting of Gilchrist at the end of the day.
Available to 8 adults and 4 children. If you have a larger party or more than 8 adults, this home may not suitable

NOTE: Careful with the septic system - no grease, food, or sand down drain; do not flush anything other than toilet paper, even if it is labeled flushable, as this can cause major damage to the septic and be an expensive problem for us both.
No portable grills, fireworks, candles, or anything with an open flame allowed near the house. Please be fire aware with our big Gulf breezes. Please keep doors and windows closed, the salt air does major damage to appliances etc.
