How do I set up my damage deposit?
Set a damage deposit on your listing under Pricing, then choose whether Houfy charges it or you collect it yourself. What each option does and who can use it.

Log in and open Menu (top right) > Manage Listings.
Click Edit on the listing, then Pricing > Rates & Fees.
Expand the Damage Protection section and choose the Damage Deposit card. (Damage Protection offers three choices - houfyProtect, Damage Deposit and None - and only one can be active at a time. If houfyProtect is currently selected, choosing Damage Deposit will switch it off.)
Enter the Amount, then answer the two questions below it.
How do you collect this deposit?
Members with a connected payment processor - Stripe, Square or PayPal - have two options:
Charge with Houfy
Collect by host
Members who collect payment outside of Houfy have only Collect by host. You will invoice your guest directly, the same way you invoice them for the rental rate, cleaning fee and so on.
When do you collect this deposit?
At booking, 1, 2, 3 or 7 days before check-in, or on the check-in date.
Note: At booking appears only if you chose Charge with Houfy.
Use Deposit terms & info to describe your refund policy, then click Continue at the bottom of the page.
If you prefer to collect outside of these options, you can add the damage deposit as a fee instead - see How do I add a security damage deposit as a fee?
