19394 State Highway 88, Pine Grove

Winter, spring, summer or fall... No matter the season, it seems our family always manages to stop into this deli at least once during each visit. Located in the back of the Pine Grove Market, right off Highway 88 in Pine Grove, this is one of our favorite stops in Gold Country.

The deli features a full selection of hot and cold sandwiches (check out their daily sandwich specials!), soups, prepared sides and salads, deviled eggs, anything and everything you need for your own perfect picnic. Here's a clue that this place is authentic: check out the humongous jars of whole dill pickles and pickled eggs on the counter. Fair warning that both of these are extremely delicious and addicting, so unless you want to start obsessing about these pickles, dreaming about them nonstop until you are compelled to return to the area just to go to the Pine Grove Deli for lunch (who, me?), just pass them by please and leave them for the rest of us.

While you wait for your sandwich to be expertly prepared, you'll find chips, cookies, and drinks all nearby. The market also has a selection of paper goods, making this truly a one-stop shop before you head out for the day's adventure. Stop in and stock up!

Of course they'll be happy to slice up some cold cuts to order for you to take home. But really, there's no way to replicate the taste and texture of these sandwiches on your own. Trust us. Just buy the sandwich.

No time to walk up and wait? The deli now offers online ordering! Your sandwiches will be fresh and waiting for you.
