  • Make sure you have a current passport or other required documentation if you want to travel between the US and Canada. We're just 30 minutes to the border.
  • If you were born after Jan. 1, 1974 and you want to drive or rent a power boat, you need to have your boater's safety class certificate with you. Every state has their own requirements and I believe most offer the course online. Certification from any state is fine.
  • Get your vehicle paperwork in order. You'll want to bring your registration and insurance for all your motorized vehicles -- this includes 4-wheelers (winter) and boats (summer).
