Fairhaven- the name says it all!

Same beaches as Cape Cod without those prices and all that traffic!

This is a family owned home since 1962 with a minimalist style and modest furnishings that holds wonderful memories and we would like you to create your own memories here too.

The area offers beautiful sunrises and sunsets over the Atlantic Ocean and/or Buzzards Bay.

The house is well cared for and I want to provide an enjoyable experience for you and all those joining you for your stay.

Summers guests, a beach pass has been obtained from the town for the resident only town beach ( West Island). The pass belongs to the house and you may use it any time during your stay but you must leave it in the home at departure. If you lose it or take it home with you the pass the cost to replace it will be passed on to you.You do not need the beach pass at any other beaches as they are public.

All guests must be disclosed at booking request for insurance purposes.

Check in time is 4 pm unless otherwise approved in advance

Checkout is 10am to assist housekeeping to maintain their schedule. Late check out without approval will be subject to an additional night fee and loss of security deposit.

If you have any issues, questions or concerns upon arrival please contact me ASAP and I will do my absolute best to remedy any situation.

Travel insurance is highly recommended as refunds are not provided for weather, travel interuptions, illness or injury prior to arrival.

Booking requirements- 50% down due at booking. Cancellation policy is strict so no refunds will be provided. Extra guest fees( if applicable) cleaning fee and refundable security deposit and the remainder of balance is due 7 days prior to arrival date.

Key code will not be provided without the above and there will be no refund.

Refundable security deposit will be returned within 7 business days as long as there is no damage or unregistered guests.

Rental agreement required and needs to be completed 7 days prior to arrival. Key will not be provided without it and refunds not given without it.

Great local restaurants in town and grocery shopping are within 2 miles.

The freshest seafood around sold in local fish markets.

Boat to local wharf wholesale price- lobsters, scallops and Jonah crabs on select days by local boats. Contact me and I will provide you the contacts

Authentic Portuguese food abounds as well!!

BR 1 has 1 queen bed and 2 twin beds

BR 2 has 2 twin beds

BR 3 has a queen bed

BR 4 has 2 double beds

Full baths on main living floor and on second floor

Dining table that can seat 6 comfortably but comes with 6 additional chairs.

Large deck with ample seating for late spring & summer stays with propane grill supplied.

Housekeeping does not clean the outdoor grill. Grill cleaning tools are supplied.

For late spring/summer/early fall guests-

AC window units in all bedrooms for your comfort

Mosquito repellant is not provided by the host

The property is treated with a non - carcinogenic mosquito spray every other week to mitigate mosquitos but you are highly encouraged to bring your own mosquito spray.

Beach towels are provided.

Do not bring bath towels to the beach as they are not appropriate for the beach.

After your beach time let the beach towels dry out on the deck to decrease sand into the house. Thank you!

Please protect the environment and do not leave any litter at the beach. Bring it back to the house and place it in the trash.

Historic Fort Phoenix State Beach 5 minutes away in the center of town.

There is also East and West Beach in New Bedford which takes about 15 minutes to get to.

Traveling to the Martha's Vineyard, Nantucket or Cuttyhunk?

Ferry parking to Martha's Vineyard, Nantucket and Cuttyhunk are 15 minutes away.

30 minutes to Whale watching excursions in historic Plymouth MA or visit the Plimouth Patuxet Museum ( formerly Plimouth Plantation) & see the Mayflower replica and how the Pilgrims lived.

30 minutes to Providence/ Newport RI.

All new as of March 2025- rail service to Boston from historic New Bedford MA.

Water Wizz water park located 20 minutes away in Wareham MA. ( Summer only)

Pickleball fan? Livesey Park ( N. Fairhaven) has outdoor courts. Southcoast Pickleball has an indoor facility less than 2 miles away. A scenic extended bike path is also less than 2 miles away.

Trash day is every Monday so please place all trash in the outside blue bin and take to the curb by 0730 Monday morning. Bringing it out on a Sunday night is fine.

Recycling is every other Monday ( calendar in the kitchen will tell you what Monday recycling is). All recycling ( paper, glass, cardboard, pizza boxes, plastic and glass bottles) go in recycling orange top bins- there are 2 for your convenience but NOTHING can be placed in plastic bags in recycling bins.

If these town rules are not followed the recycling will not be picked up and the owner will be notified and a fine imposed ($50) which will be passed to the guest. If you ever have any questions just text me.

Family friendly neighborhood with a park one street away and an accessible playground less than 2 miles away.

Kids are always welcome but please know the house is not childproofed.

Going to try going pet friendly again. 1 pet per stay. $100 pet fee. Please keep pet off the furniture and do not allow them to pee on rugs. Pet waste( poop) needs to be disposed of properly and that does not mean down the toilet! Cannot be an aggressive breed sd defined by the state ( insurance purposes) which are Pits, Rots or Shepherds

$350 fine for undisclosed pets

Do not leave your pet alone in the house, it's their vacation too so take them along with you

Smoking/vaping of any type within the house and sunroom is NOT allowed. You can smoke outside but please do not use the yard or deck as your ashtray. Dispose of your smoking products responsibly and cleanly.

$350 nightly fine for evidence of smoking in the home

No candles please- I prefer my house not to burn down

There are no parties or bonfires allowed on property

External security cameras on site- side door facing driveway, front of garage facing street- do not cover or disable or your reservation will be cancelled and you will have to leave

The detached garage is not part of the listing and is locked. Sensor in garage will notify of entry and will be considered trespassing with $350 fine and possible cancellation of reservation

Leave the glitter and sparkles home- $350 additional cleaning fee for evidence of either.
