Meet The Host

Owner
Rachel
We are a couple of young folks with old fashioned tastes. We enjoy hospitality, learning obscure things, and extreme DIY projects. David has a passion for tools, and Rachel thinks that comes in handy. Rachel is an artist, and David enjoys her traditional style. Rachel homeschools the children during the day, and David has a large homemade telescope, so you might catch us outside after dark admiring Saturn or Jupiter.
We have young kids, so we usually go to bed and get up early. As long as we are awake, we'll address any guest messages ASAP.
David can speak Cantonese; Rachel was once fairly fluent in ASL but has sadly forgotten much of it.

House Rules
No smoking, no smokers! This includes: no cigarettes, cigars, vaping, hookah, illegal drugs, or marijuana in any form. Due to some guests being treated at the medical center, and the presence of small children and people with asthma on the property, we simply can not host smokers. Just smoking outside or off property is not a solution, it still comes out of your lungs and off your clothes. This is our number one rule. Sorry for the inconvenience. If this policy necessitates you canceling your booking, please let me know as soon as possible.

No pets. If you brought an animal please message us immediately.

Remove shoes indoors. Please don't make a mess. Clean up spills promptly. Food residue attracts bugs.

No loud noise outside between 7PM and 7AM (please avoid boisterous noise outside in general for the sake of our neighbors and napping babies).

No parties or events. No unregistered guests. This is not a hotel room.

No candles, incense, or open flames.

You may park inside or outside the gate, but please close it after opening. We want to keep dogs out and chickens in. Be careful to park so that the gate can open fully, allowing us to roll out the trash bins.

Minimum age to book is 25. Minors must be supervised by a registered adult at all times.

Please don't use towels to remove makeup. Wipes from the cabinet or paper towels are provided.

Please don't take unused supplies with you when you leave. Please ask before using anything in the garage, except for the laundry items.

If an issue arises, let us know straight away - we can deal with most problems swiftly and are happy to do so - please do not suffer in silence! Simply send me a message and I will respond in EVERY instance. Please let us know about broken or damaged items promptly as we might need time to replace them before the next guest.

For health and safety reasons, we reserve the right to clean the bathroom in the middle of a longer stay. To confirm your identity, please send a picture of your ID with your first message, and tell us a little about yourself.

Breaking of rules may result in loss of deposit or other fines. Our primary use of the guest house is visiting family and friends. Please help keep it lovely for them.
