Enjoy this large, bright cabin that boasts a private deck with treetop views, knotty pine walls, wood burning stove, game room, 5 beds, and a spacious hot tub. Summer access to private lake with kayaks, beach, and events. 35 mins to Bear Valley and 15 mins to Murphy's wine country.

Note: There is a steep and long driveway. During winter, AWD / 4x4 / snow chains required.

Open floor plan where you can read by the fire, take in treetop mountain views, or screen a throwback DVD while you play ping-pong. Private lake access in summer. Come visit!

During wintertime (rain/ snow/ icy), an all wheel drive vehicle is highly recommended to climb the driveway. Chains can also help.

Cell reception spotty in the area - map your way to the house before driving!

Guests are responsible for sorting trash/ recycling and then removing trash on their last day. Instructions are provided for guests for delivering trash to the Avery Transfer station (free of charge).

Yes. As stated, the driveway is very steep but 3-4 cars can fit once you make it up the hill. The house is on a cul de sac so driving in the cul de sac during snow is an option. You have to walk up the hill from there to the house.

Getting around

5 minutes by car to the main road, and to the grocery store. Bring snow chains in winter! Depending on weather, the county sets up chain control and you need either snow chains or AWD/4x4 to pass the chain control. If you have a big car, take your time going up the driveway and go up one car at a time.

We create a home that is perfect for families and anyone who wants to enjoy a true mountain retreat. Join us in the trees!

House Rules

House rules:

Sometimes the power goes out in the area, especially during inclement weather. We do not refund power outages. There is a diversity of options to heat the house. The wood burning stove downstairs is powerful and can heat the house on its own. The heater upstairs runs on propane. Please be prepared to manage such possible events during your visit.

Please be sure to keep all trash INDOORS (otherwise bears and other animals will enjoy it and make a huge mess.) If you end up with more bags of trash than you’d care to keep indoors, just let us know and we can share information about the free Avery dump. It is just a few minutes down the road. All you need to do is show your rental reservation at the gate.

Be sure to lock your car doors as well. The bears can be very curious when they are hungry and have been known to open car doors if they smell anything delicious inside.

No shoes in the house, please.

Do not rearrange furniture.

Please only eat meals at the dining room table.

Hot tub fits 6 people. Children under the age of 7 not allowed in the hot tub. Detailed guide and rules are shared with guests on the refrigerator and must be followed. If damage is done and rules aren't followed, guests will be charged. We have a security deposit. If you damage the home in any way, you may be charged up to $500.

Guests must wash dishes and run the dishwasher before checking out.

Please place used towels and used bedding on the bathroom floor upon departure.

Washer and dryer are available for guests staying longer than 4 nights.

Absolutely no outside guests and no parties/ events.

Quiet hours are enforced. Please no noise after 10:00pm. We respect the peaceful environment that our neighbors enjoy.
