About this place

Peaceful Little Pine River Retreat | Screen Porch

Great Up North cabin in a serene and peaceful setting nestled among the trees along Little Pine River. Some have said they feel as though they’re in a treehouse. Two kayaks and a few tubes are available for guests to use, or sit in a chair in the river and cool off. Enjoy the views and sounds of the river and wildlife while sitting by the fire pit, on the cozy deck or in one of the 2 screened in porches. If you feel like being more social, Crosslake is only about a 5 mile drive.

Our cabin has basswood, pine and cedar woodwork throughout. The main bedroom has a queen bed, and the second bedroom has double custom made built-in twin xl over queen bunk beds. The bedrooms and full bath are located on the main level, with the second level having an open floor space that includes the kitchen, dining and living areas. There is a futon in the living room for an additional spot to sleep. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you will need (minus food), and has a fridge with freezer, oven, microwave and dishwasher. A cupboard is also available for your food. There is a coffee bar with some coffee, an assortment of teas, and some hot chocolate. We also have both a charcoal grill (charcoal not supplied) and a propane grill (propane supplied) for you to use.

If you'd like to make use of the fire pit, bundles of wood are available for purchase onsite on the honor system for your convenience.

If the weather isn't cooperating, we have WiFi, several board games, a TV and DVD player with an assortment of movies (or rent one from the Red Box located in Crosslake), and a Wii with a few games for you to use.

Families are welcome! Please note, those with infants and younger kids, there are outlet covers on the lower outlets that are not in use, and there is a high chair available if requested in advance. However, there is no kid gate on the stairs and no childproofing of cupboards. Young children must be watched by all steps, including those leading to the river, and in the screened in porches or anywhere they could fall. All children must be supervised by a close-by adult when in or near the water.

We are centrally located among Crosslake, Fifty Lakes, and Emily and only 4-5 miles to three popular golf courses including the 18 hole Golden Eagle Golf Club in Fifty Lakes, the 18 hole Emily Greens Golf Course in Emily, and the 27 hole Crosswoods Golf Course in Crosslake. Bring your boat, or in the winter your collapsible fish house, and take advantage of the many lakes in the area (a lakes fishing maps and guide book is onsite for your convenience). Or if biking, riding your atvs or snowmobiling is your thing, there are trails close by. No matter the season, there's plenty to do!

You will need a car to get around. If visiting during the snow or early spring season, a vehicle with AWD or 4WD is recommended. There's room for 4-5 vehicles to park comfortably.

Price is for the first 4 guests. Additional $25 per guest per night for more than 4.

A large enough vehicle will be needed to haul the kayaks.
