Welcome to our "Ohana" (family) Adventure House set in the Sierras. Whether you're here to enjoy the views of sequoias by the fire, relax with a cappuccino or wine from nearby Murphys, hike the Arnold Rim Trail, or ski and romp in the snow in Bear Valley – Arnold is Nature's reset.
Come unplug and rejuvenate, or work-from-Arnold with our fast WIFI. Arnold has the best of the Sierras without the Tahoe crowds.
Welcome to our Ohana
This is our family getaway and we hope you enjoy it as much as we do. This is not your forgotten cabin of the past, and has been carefully furnished with organic natural fibers, tuft and needle mattresses, and other enviro-friendly waste and resource conscious choices . We believe that enjoying the best of nature means taking steps to preserve it. You'll find eco-friendly selections throughout the cabin and welcome you try it...we promise, it won't hurt.

UPSTAIRS
The main living space is a large open open concept with exposed beams with a spacious dining table roomy for 8, and a welcoming living room with cathedral windows where you can be mesmersized by the wood burning stove or the treetops.
A coffee bar sets the stage for your morning with a DeLonghi espresso machine or Fellows kettle with pour over for you to enjoy with handmade ceramics on the deck, don't worry, waking at sunrise not required.

Kitchen is equipped with instantpot, vitamix blender, immersion blender, and cast irons and quality pots and pans, and cutco chef's knife. It's a small kitchen but we don't mess around.

There are 2 bedrooms with queens upstairs with a shared bath with tub.

HEATING:
We have a panel heaters in every room as well as a wood burning stove to provide that quintessential cabin feel.

Bedrooms:
Panel heaters are manual in each room. We find that the bedrooms heaters are very effective and usually comfortable at 60-65. Additional instructions in house guide

Upstairs living/dining room:
Thermostat is next to kitchen that controls the two panels in the living and dining room

Wood burning fireplace:
Starting Fire:
1 “egg” fire starter and some cardboard
1-2 logs
Flue on top right pulled out
Baffle at 6 o’clock pushed in

Once wood is lit and you want to slow burn:
Push flue in
Pull baffle air intake out

Ashes and wood:
Bucket for ashes. If it needs to be emptied during your stay, there is a lidded 30 gallon in the garage
Wood: we do not charge extra for wood, because why harsh the mellow? You should have plenty for your stay

DOWNSTAIRS:
A whole second living room with Roku TV is a great spot for kids or movie night.
The larger 3rd bedroom has a queen and twin bunks.
A second bathroom downstairs has a shower stall.

The deck has been furnished for outdoor entertaining and relaxing seating for 8pp. A comfy couch and large dining table make it a place for family and friends to hang out from sunrise through stargazing.

RESPECTFUL ENJOYMENT
We do not permit parties and we have an outdoor camera that monitors the driveway. If you have questions about guests, please don't hesitate to ask. It's a great place to have people join for dinner on the deck...go for it, just do so with respect to the house and our cleaner.
Please enjoy what the home has to offer as you would want your own family home to be enjoyed and left.
