We are located 12 miles from the beautiful cascading waterfall, Little Missouri Falls. We are a scenic drive from Blaylock Creek Falls, Bard Springs, Fancy Hill Falls, Crooked Creek Falls, Shady Lake, Hickory Nut Vista, Sugar Creek Vista, Eagle Rock Loop, Window Rock, Albert Pike, and Wolf Pen. We are 10 miles from local kayak and canoe outfitters on the Caddo River.

Our Lil' "Rustic Retreat" Cabin will sleep four, this is a cozy cabin like the good old days past; we offer a futon bed, a handmade cedar bed and an OUTDOOR swinging bed; a hot tub.

Our cabin is situated on approximately 12 rural wooded acres with rippling creek frontage; privately owned land passed down from generation to generation, from the ol' homestead days. What makes our park unique is that our campground and our cabins are situated on two separate tracks of land.

Our cabin track is a beautiful 24 acre track with towering pines and forested grounds with a creek to the front, Jack Creek. Jack Creek Mountain is also on our track with beautiful sweeping views.

Our cabins and park are located in Fancy Hill, Arkansas, a small community in the Ouachita National Forest. Jack Creek runs directly in from of the cabin and you can simply step off your front porch and walk into the creek.

Our cabin is located within a 45 minute drive of local crystal mines in Mt. Ida, Arkansas and an hour drive from Hot Springs and Mena.

The Homestead Act, enacted during the Civil War in 1862, provided that any adult citizen, or intended citizen, who had never borne arms against the U.S. government could claim 160 acres of surveyed government land. Claimants were required to live on and “improve” their plot by cultivating the land, pay a small registration fee and agree to live on the land continuously for 5 years, after which they would be granted a deed to the land. Phillip N. Cogburn, my great-grandfather, was granted homestead for land by President Benjamin Harrison, our family still privately own's some of this original land today.

Located in beautiful Montgomery County, Arkansas; Montgomery County was formed on December 9, 1842, and named for Gen. Richard Montgomery, a hero of the American Revolution. Sixty-three percent of the county is national forest land.

Lil' Rustic Retreat was custom built on site by the owners, with a "tree" centered in the middle of the cabin, the cabin was constructed from hand cut trees off the property and hand-milled on the family sawmill, you will see posts on the porch that were debarked by a ol' family draw knife by hand.

All the imperfections in the cabin, the wood, the lumber variations in size and shape and the construction of the cabin, make for a true rustic cabin feel and lend a ol' frontier look to the cabin. Enjoy the cabins practical beauty, simple rustic old time charm, and cozy interior. The pine kitchen cabinets, shelves and hardware were custom constructed on site by the owner's.

The fresh cedar enclosed bathroom consists of a unique glass paneled shower, a Jack Daniels Whiskey Barrel which the owners brought back from their trip to Tennessee straight from the Jack Daniels Whiskey Distillery, the barrel is toped with a beautiful rock shaped sink and custom faucet. Fall asleep in a beautiful full size handmade log cedar bed and enjoy your fresh coffee or old fashioned country breakfast at the weathered spool bench table centered around the beautiful pine tree cut right off the property.

Come sit on the porch of this little ol' country beauty, listen to Jack Creek rippling by as you cuddle up in the handmade pine bed swing or enjoy a ol' fashioned glass bottled coke in one of our rocking chairs. Slip back to simpler times, quiet moments, beautiful family time around the kitchen table, and the simple joy of being in the "now" moment.

Bring a book and enjoy in the cool shade on the swinging hammock situated right on the banks of the creek or in the shade of a beautiful tree or simply enjoy a fun game of horseshoes for a bit of good ol' competitive fun. Grill those juicy steaks on the charcoal grill as you listen to Jack Creek ripple by.

Enjoy hamburgers grilled to perfection with all the fixins' at your creekside picnic table as you watch the stars light up the night sky. Don't forget those late evening smore's over the open rock fire pit as the sun sets on a adventurous day of back roading or galavanting. There is ample room for parking your four-wheeler and atv trailers.

Lil' "Rustic Retreat" is a true cabin experience, with rustic pine walls and ceiling, nothing is perfect here; just simple ol' rustic charm. With different colors and textures of wood used, we cannot guarantee the cabin to be hypoallergenic due to the materials being used, rustic wood shrinks and expands due to weather and temperatures.

We personally build each unique cabin on site from the ground up with repurposed materials and materials that we manufacture on our family sawmill, established in 1975. We hope when you step inside any of our cabins you feel right at home, enjoy the imperfect rustic beauty, notice the workmanship and care we have placed in each one and enjoy the beauty of nature that surrounds each cabin.
