Finca Placencia oceanfront Private Beach House

Finca is a relaxing haven on 200 feet of natural beachfront only one mile north of placencia village. Listen to the waves as you relax in the hammock or beach chairs. We are one of the only places with a real beach and not a sea wall. Next door to turtle inn. A magical spot of natural beauty just outside of a cool, Belizean village.

The space
We are perfectly located on six acres one mile north of Placencia village. 200 feet of beautiful white sand natural beach are just steps from the house. Our property also stretches all the way to the lagoon, where you can kayak and bird watch. There is a small reef 70 feet from the water's edge where starfish, sea urchin and many colorful fish can be found. The water is calm and safe for swimming. The secluded sandy front yard has papaya, almond and cashew trees, coconut, hibiscus and other flowering bushes. Watch the sunrise from the tiled verandah overlooking the sea. Bicycles, hammocks and beach chairs are provided for your enjoyment. Town is an easy 30 minute walk along the beach or a quick bike ride or taxi away.

Built in 2003, the beach house is steps from the sea, nestled in the shade of sea grapes and palms. We built our structures with a respect for the natural landscape and as the peninsula gets more developed, our finca has become a haven for the multitudes of birds that make Placencia their home. The vaulted tropical hardwood ceilings give the house a very spacious feeling. Lots of screened windows and fans keep the place cool. Tiled throughout with mexican tiles, the house has an open floor plan with a big living/dining/kitchen area with a fully equipped kitchen, bar with bar stools, table, futon couch, and day bed. There is one bedroom with a queen size 4-poster bed, wardrobe and desk. The bathroom has a full hot and cold water tub and shower. There is also an outdoor shower. Comfortably sleeps 4.

Guest access
There is a well stocked kitchen and a private shady yard right on the beach.

I live in Vermont when I’m not here. If you are a larger party, you can rent both the house and my other property listed on airbnb, FInca cabana as well.

I chose to settle in Placencia because I fell in love with the village which has a tightly knit community and I did not feel like I stuck out as a gringo there. FInca is just a small ride out of town so you have some privacy and still have easy access to the village.

We provide bikes for your use. There are busses that run a few times a day and inexpensive taxis available all the time.

Belize is not an island! It borders Mexico, Guatemala and Honduras. Placencia is at the tip of a 25 mile peninsula, p
Our acommodations are rustic. We have ceiling and standing fans-no A/C.
Occasionally the power and water goes off for an hour or 2 in the village.
60 ft from waters edge in belize is called quenn's land and is public for anyone to walk upon. There is no private beach. You may see people walking along the beach.
