Clean and Cozy - Private entry/ 1.5M to downtown - Truckee

Private room with private entry in a cozy family home located in Ponderosa Palisades 1.5 miles from historic downtown Truckee. Very comfortable queen size bed with nice linens. Shared guest bathroom up a few steps and down the hall. Full access to the kitchen. Pet fee: $25, with approval. We are dog-friendly (we can’t host cats due to allergies) and our dogs love getting pets from Airbnb guests, but we will keep our dogs separate from your dog.

The space
The guest room is spacious with a very comfortable queen-size bed with pillow-top mattress and nice linens and plush pillows. There is a smart tv with wifi, HBO Max and Fire TV (no cable). The guest room has an exterior door (private entrance), and a door that leads into the main house. The (shared) bathroom is NOT adjacent to the guest room, it's up a few steps and down the hall. Towels, shampoo/conditioner, body wash, and a hairdryer are also provided.

In the guest room, you will also find a small refrigerator, microwave, tea, hot chocolate, Nespresso coffee and espresso maker, pour-over coffee, and filtered water. In the cupboard you'll find a twin cot, extra bedding, a yoga mat, and some cleaning supplies. In the summer we add a portable air conditioner unit, in the winter a wall-heater and space heater are available for extra warmth (in addition to the central heat).

Guest access
Guests are invited to use the hot tub in the backyard between 7am-9pm (pls shower first) and any of the common areas of the home (between 7am-9pm), as long as they clean up after themselves (kitchen, living room, laundry). Our fenced-in backyard is dog-friendly and guests are invited to relax on the deck and use the gas grill. We have an exercise room with a treadmill, a Peloton bike, and free weights available for use.

During your stay
I work days Mon-fri, and am often home on the weekends, along with my husband, Steve. We spend most of our weekend days running or hiking around the area. We have a very sweet 9-year-old lab mix named Beverly and a very excited 5-year-old red golden retriever named Bruno.

If I'm home, and you want to learn about local trails or restaurants or things to do, I'm happy to chat.

Other things to note
We love hosting friends, family, and Airbnb guests, and are happy to interact or give privacy, whatever guests prefer. Our dogs love meeting new guests.

Our family is typically up before 7am any day of the week (6am on weekdays). When we’re awake, you may hear some light noise from the kitchen, or you may hear us leaving early for work.
